  1. Is that the Range Roverr version? I watched a video where it chased a caterham round a track and did a good job at nearly running it over!
  2. Staying in Maidenhead. Back up towards Bromley tomorrow but around ramsgate weds and thurs.
  3. I coupled my zig zag with a knee ascender and foot ascender setup. On the old pantins just put a regular sized carabiner through the hole under the cam to stop the rope coming out. It's smaller steps compared to the haas system, but uses both legs instead of one. Like walking up stairs!
  4. I'm in Kent for a few days in a small van. Wouldn't mind taking a decent millable piece back with me. Anything 400mm+ wide and I could squeeze about 4-5' length in the van! Just want the one piece to get some nice planks from. Don't want to make the van sweat too much!
  5. Would just be a cable tie or some leccy tape to hold it in. The hedge cutters are ace. Got two sets here. If they run off the backpack battery I could spend weeks on them they are so light.
  6. Pop donaghy rope into eBay it'll bring up cougar orange red and blue from a seller in Southampton from time to time. Just needs splicing!
  7. I would call that a group of trees. If in a well and easily viewed area there could be some consideration for TPO
  8. I could most likely get a tractor trailer on site to you Paul? Just need dates. Weekends are best for me!
  9. You say 'no longer hangs over my house' that's where the issue lies. The tree is currently over the house with a nice form. There will be some allowance for reduction works over the building but taking up to 10' straight off the side of the tree won't look pretty. My advice is that you apply to prune back any branches that grow towards the building, essentially a crown lift, and that maybe some end weight is reduced off longer scaffold limbs over the roof. The council want to keep the shape and chestnut isn't the best at holding back decay so small wounds will not cause detriment to any great effects.
  10. I've got a dmm sentinel in mine. Bit of a squeeze to go in but sits perfect in the small space at the bottom. No chance of it moving about
  11. Make notes during said porn and have a practice?
  12. With an 'in' sticker on the top button and 'out' sticker on the stop/reverse bar?
  13. Awesome video. I'd like to see someone in the UK do that with a 40' topped ten times conifer in a tight back garden!
  14. Good to see you again Paul sorry I couldn't catch you before I left! It's 25 degrees and clear blue skies back up north!
  15. Have they proven that it's a contributing factor or just speculating?
  16. Is anyone able to splice up some tight cougar blue for me at the Arb show? Brand new unused just seems it's a tight batch. Happy to pay going rate. I'm there both days.
  17. Processor you will spend more time messing round. If you split into billets 3-4 firewood logs long, the saw bench is must faster at cutting the timber.
  18. Split to billets where possible and get a saw bench. Less mess than chainsaw and splitter.
  19. Booked my ticket I'll be there both days. Want to have a wander round the arboretum while I'm there
  20. Some thick ply cut at 2' width. Acts as a ramp and stops you breaking the door. Worked for me on a very tight one
  21. Yeah that one was the worst leaner, all were rotten and hollow luckily the trickiest one had the most wood in it. We pulled it directly backwards over the lean to keep it balanced. Hard fast pull and hit the deck no bother! Other 3 were well balanced but with 5t of tractor on the rope a bit of lean doesn't really come into it!
  22. I remember the story about that mouse! I'll be there for one day most likely. Quite doable for me to go there and back in a day.
  23. Yesterday consisted of 4 knackered Lombardy pops and some mechanical advantage
  24. Depends on the TO. Some are easy, some just like to cause friction! A reasonable mixed native species planting scheme, maybe some as a hedge and some others given room to mature would be a good replacement
