yep! all in all, a very good weekend! steve and the (good-looking) ladies did very well on the arbtalk tombola stand, for the childrens charity, who got the woodburner? the contractors workshops by dmm and treeworker were very informative, it really makes you think about your own and others safety. the 3atc went well, i was in 3rd in the novices for most of the weekend, got pipped at the post tho, ended 6/7/8th ish methinks? got armfuls of freebies! and met loads of new people, both arbtalkers and not. even enjoyed watching the chipper racing!! a big hearty well done to paul (aka AA techie) and the team for a good weekend. p.s - thanks for the x-fit gear!

hiya! this thread was up quick! your on the list, i sent a pm but they tend to get lost in cyberspace! glad you had a good day, my weekend was good, even better when i won the stihl x-fit gear in the main draw!!!!!!!!!!!! beach-rollys good too! nice to meet up with a few of you, hope you all had a good time!
  4. haha! very good! im still tryin to work out how to resize me pics to post, i do it somehow differently everytime and cant remember any of how to do it!!
  5. is it possible to make them into a downloadable pdf? (methinks u might need to ask lisa how!)
  6. very nice. your camera skills are defo improving.
  7. well lets see, it could be a hand splice made by a rather well built and enthusiastic person, or it could be the old three way loading problem with the krab, ie - a krab with attatchment knot and friction knot is classed as a 3way loaded. youl need a second krab, one for attatchment knot/splice, and one for friction hitch/prussik/split-tail. its also one of the reasons behind the oval krabs. im afraid to say lantra have a lot to answer for.................
  8. tony k said last wednesday, that theyve had a few opm's at kew, so they nuked em wiv a bloody great big spraygun!! Think "fire trucks"!!
  9. jeez! your only down the road! nah, its easier to just check the results page on the isa web, or i might just give jess o prod? (might get a slap tho!!)
  10. good stuff! whens the rest of the results available? am i right in thinking you're the same peter judging the rescue?
  11. try looking in the comps thread, or talking to peeps on here to get to a comp. arbsister or arbjobsnick are the best to talk to.
  12. its a piece of metal inserted into a wrap-around pad.
  13. the twisted shank points the spike trunkwards, tho you wont realy notice unless you use an upgraded pad like the metal wraparounds, or the velcro ones, as the reguler L-pads dont do alot!
  14. great stuff for doing carvings with,
  15. yeah, i know afew people like that!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING-IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. the official guidance is two or three files to one chain my guidance is as the chain is sharpened, you should see the filings coming off, if you cant see any, push harder! if your file passes easily, get a new one!!
  17. Nope!! conaught have bougth out the eleccy side of fountains, the other contracts are still going,
  18. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i seem to remember startin a similer thread last january? glad its finally sorted, althou as of thursday night, the entry form was still in cyberspace!! il go and have another look! by the way, the ptlls coursework is givin me a bloomin big 'eadache!!
  19. is it a siamese one??? no seriously, thats a crackingly good piece!
  20. to be honest, there the biggest rip-off around, there 100squids+ and only half as useful as a reguler strop w/ friction hitch, which will set you back 30+ squids. they are very easily open to abuse and improper useage,
  21. or you could try the "puzzledmonkeyarb.co.uk"
  22. well i do remember walking across the field/carpark at the aa show last year, looking at the logo'd vans and noticed one "chainsaw charlie".............
  23. now then you clever bunch! as per the nptc site, the newly changed cs 33(large) to cs 33(specialist) is now to be changed to an even newer cs 49. does this mean the old cs33 (large) is re-introduced to the scheme, as the blurb now says its incorporated into 32. as any assessor needs to be inducted into this as per the rest of the suit, cs49 may take a while to get going. as im still waiting for a cs33(large) or it was when i started! is it still worth going for?
