  1. thats true..............
  2. yep!! id been after timbersports gear for several years, so when the catalogue turned up this year, i ordered it before leavin the dealer! (yes i kno its sad!) so im first in the peckin order for it, the system is so backlogged now youl be waitin 4 months to get a sniff of it! the x fit was free cus i won the draw at the arb show!
  3. try cyclingnews.com im afraid ive only got two cannondales, one a cad3 saeco team replica, (come on cippolini!!) and a team six13, the one used in the 99 giro with the extra weights glued on! (simoni and cunego era?) but no, i just dont get much time or energy to ride either.
  4. mine's fantastic!!!!!!! fits perfect!, looks great! did i mention it was all FREE?! My timbersports gear turned up last week, all very good and heartily recommended!
  5. OOOH!! Let me guess.................. ...........some1 who wouldnt know one end of a rope if it came up and slapped em round the face wiv a wet fish, but has no problem insisting your doin it wrong? in most cases it depends on the tree and the method used as to which rings you would use. in a larger open growing tree then yes, both attatchments to your centre d's is fine. in a crappy conifer then maybe easier to advance slowly using both attatchments to side d's whilst standing on the braches? but when choggin down, a flipline from side d's and main rope from centre d's placed lower down is the norm. idealy using an adjustable cambium saver on the main rope to make it safer. no rope grab? but a flipline near live wires is ok?????????
  6. the last time i did a bit of milling was about 18 years ago (jeez im gettin old!!) i was hangin onto the other end of a logsol type effort with a 6ft double ended bar and two 084's, lovely big bit of cedar. ahh, those were the days..................
  7. You had an idea????? We're doomed!! DOOMED!!!!!!!!
  8. obviously. guess thats another thing you can add to the list of "what im so useless at"
  9. i seem to remember some1 asking about the beachrolly, but cant find the thread to reply, so il start another one!! My beachrollys great! defo worth the money!!
  10. id say go for the waiver option, with a view to looking into getting your own. your boss may say if youv got time for reccies, then youv got time for doing overtime, or even your not workin hard enough!! ive basicaly done the same with my local private estate. http://www.grimsthorpe.co.uk (nice place for a day out!)
  11. just stick wiv triples to be on the safe side.
  12. humour? did some one make a joke?? i was bein serious!! i like scottish hospitality, nearly went to the highland show, but too many shows this year and not enough pocket money to spend!! the pics of my "back garden" have a sister estate, Drummond castle in perthshire are owned by the same family. went there once for hols, very nice!!
  13. im not very educated in such matters, but i am reliably informed warm beer is a bad thing!! ps......the x-fit gear has arrived, great stuff!!
  14. there is a ladies prize.............. go on, you know you want to............ ps, nice to see you at the arb show, if only very briefly! il be at the apf, so il pop by for some freebies!!
  15. poleclimbings great fun!! you wont "need" owt as you should be able to borrow it all, but at least take a helmet, full-finger gloves, good boots (usually chainsaw boots). a harness, spikes n a strop. is all,
  16. i havent got one, ive just seen one at the arb show, its in the fletcher stewert catalogue, no prices tho. Go on the nigel, give us a price, we know you want to........
  17. if my noggin is workin correctly, the bod is the full body/fall arresst version. best used for footlockin comps (isa?) or for use in a mewp the usual fall arresst alternatives are very basic, the bod is as comfortable as a regular harness, but has the advantage of bein cert'd for fall arresst use, unlike harnessess with the add-on shoulder straps. a good harness, iv was very seriously considerin one, until i had a look at the skylotec version, just need more info tho.
  18. crow wood is the one my old mans thinning out at the mo!! its next to bishop hall on the stone road to park farm. ps copying is plagurism. be warned!!!!!
  19. im afraid my experiences of the isa in general is just not printable on here, as il get into bother from mr bullman. so im just not goin to get involved..................... ..................D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. its small, its green, its got a flower, its in the wild flower thread. my guess is.......................... ......................a wild flower.
  21. in other words..........stuff it!!!! its just an access line for footlockin so im not too bovvered about the eye, but its easier to have a ring than a k-not for installin n retrievin. look in the ads on the right, theres one for ropecutters, theyve got some nice ones! you were at a tradeshow and didnt spend owt???? blimey!!!! my beachrollys great!
  22. evening!! have your hands recovered yet? whats the deal with patron tree access? its a 32strand-single braid. ive whipped a keyring in the end using old zing-it just for installing, but methinks an eye would be neater just very hard to do as its quite tight. just a simple singl braid but take more outer strands off? for the keen ones, Nod now has splicing tools available on the net Tree Climbing Equipment Online Shop - Treeworker.co.uk - Home Although its also reccommended to get training in the art of splicing for obvious reasons!
