  1. i would say you have done exactly what the customer wanted:thumbup:
  2. i spotted the dodgy knifes too. He tried to sell it to me on the proviso that it "hires out at £150 to£200 a day." And chips 8" also could or would not tell me who manufactured the engine only that its chinese and much better than a perkins engine.
  3. a lot more than your expecting. 1 Can you not bury on site? 2 Tub grinder for half a day may be cheaper way 3 Ring round local farmers and ask for a price per grain trailer taken from site they probably just stick it in a burning pit. Skips or recycling centre. a lot more £££ than above
  4. To be fair to the OP. I am based about 20 miles from him and his C,V landed on my desk well before this thread was started. If i had any positions i would have given him a days' work trial. Keep up the enthusiasm and an opportunity will arise. Regards Andy
  5. trap set inside run. i couldnt believe the size of the trap, only just got it thru the door. I have cable tied it all round onto the wire. Good few inches of snow on ground so he probably still hungry. Thanks for advice
  6. Good plan but would also work on kids and dog.
  7. Bloody fox had 3 chickens for dinner overnight. Has chewed and ripped hole in the middle of the wire 6" above ground level. I cable tied any little gaps after he got in thru a little gap in the top wire netting last time (my fault as not seen fox for few years now and most people let their chickens roam free 24hrs). Its well dug in wire with logs all round the edge to stop him digging in. I have seen him its a big quite black coloured dog and i have been within yards of him during daytime. Its not a safe location to shoot so trap or stronger wire are my only options. I have the option to borrow a wire fox trap but no knowledge how to bait it as he didnt leave any bodies behind this time. Any advice gratefully received?
  8. Did anyone get pic of the bark? To me it looked more like privet than lilac.
  9. Great day out Thanks Adam, Martyn and Dan. I will sort access to climb T. Oak and the taxodium when we next on site.
  10. the burghley house lime is pretty impressive too.

  13. so has my dad and it has lots of flower buds. grew its biggest leaves when it was very young. one of my favorite trees.
  14. i do have a concsience but i do cut trees for a living to feed the family and as long as no legal implications - tpo, cons regs, building conditions or ownership dispute and i am pretty certain i will get paid i give sensible professional advice but still do exactly what the customer wants. I still plant far more trees than i fell.
  15. The first part of your post is correct. The last line would ensure that you never worked for me again. Complete breach of client confidentiality against me personally and between the business and customer. If it was a potential development site the cost implications could be substantial.
  16. indeed. How easily did it mill? Looks like a good result. Regards Andy
  17. i have some nice rings up to about 30 inches. been down couple of months all cut between whorls. I was wondering if it would be possible to take a slice through the middle of the whorl and turn it into a coffee table.
