  1. Couple of months ago my 660 went bang and sounded like a bag of nails as it ground to a halt. Opened top up and i had to wash the piston out of the crankcase in tiny little bits. New piston and pot kit (was looking bit oval with scoring) and has now been running fine for 2 months.
  2. Must have couple of years experience. Will be at least 4 days to start with. I can provide climbing kit and saws if needed. Work is varied and mainly nice private gardens. A suitable rescue climber will be onsite. Driving license would be an advantage. Also i could provide accommodation if someone wants to travel. Please pm or call me on 07592455005. Regards Andy

  5. i had a knife break the tip off, land across the anvil, then hit itself on the next revolution. Very loud bang and knife pocket halfway through the flywheel in feb. Completely destroyed the chippers flywheel. So at least you have spotted it before major damage occured. I should have had it tested or analysed independently but i sent the remains back(To a sheffield based supplier of non genuine knifes) (with promise of an metallurgist report) 6 weeks later i received a complimentary set of new blades and no report.

  14. one of my regulars had a tree knock out the electric and bt lines for their house and ten others. Electric back on within hours. Bt took just over 2 weeks to reconnect the phone lines. Also they said "we dont have time to put them back on the post" and just left them running across a field and on the verge.
  15. As i understand, i didnt make it up, a very small number, maybe 10 per major supplier, have been released for sale in uk so far. Obviously the top customers have had first refusal. If they have done the modifications they suggest it may just be worth a go. Plenty more will arrive within next year. I do not have access to one but have had a go and it is probably better that 201 in tree but longevity may be an issue.
