  1. that more likely A 453 then still pretty close.
  2. guessing you mean A153 as A413 is 70 mile from here. W only a few miles away. Good Jensen territory but be careful as there are plenty of travelling types very local.
  3. Would you like to borrow a jensen A530 for a day to what you are missing? Also 745kg Regards andy
  4. Just make sure your notification states where the trees are located and give a finished height for a first pollard or state re-pollard to previous height then as Andy Clark said put in diary 6 weeks and a day.
  5. I have just emailed them informing them of my new policy regarding the replacement of stihl products with new husqvarna equivalents online (X15 machines) for best online price as local dealers are overpriced.
  6. Thanks for the replies it has now been arranged.
  7. As above Three fairly large silver birch, will be cut into managable pieces but needs collecting from site after lunch next tues 28th may. Located near glen parva.
  8. pm that man. That is a good offer of experience and the right kit to knock it out quickly without a crane. I would probably rig the top out (if needed) then lift the big wood out in big bits straight onto truck. Plus you may be quoting against another company.
  9. maybe. Couple of years ago i replaced a white mulberry with a black one for a well known mp. They had been waiting nearly 30 yrs for some fruit. Think the expenses scandal has killed quite a few jobs for us lot over the last few years.
  10. That sir is correct:001_smile:
  11. either try turning the blocks upside down or look on ebay for cheap blocks to replace with
  12. A first for me. I had to leave every branch we removed next to the tree it was removed from whilst deadwooding 7 manky sycs . This was upon request from the TO. Does he really have the authority to request this? Was pita having to return to clear up.
  13. Glad they failed but its still going to be an inconvenience to put back together even if you can do it yourself then there is the downtime and then beefing up the security which happens to my job today after yesterdays attempt to take the chipper. Regards Andy
  14. No strange marks, police came out this afternoon and were pretty certain it fits the profile for a group that were caravan dwellers but now built bungalows on the site, then retro planning and got away with it.They are causing a local crimewave again.
  15. Make sure your kit is secure. We had unwanted visitors this morning. Thankfully the dog was on the ball and they left empty handed but i now have a wrecked garage door.
  16. take some cuttings just in case
  17. What did he do? No ppe?
  18. The worst thing I ever did was to advertise with yell/yellow pages. I am still getting unwanted calls 4yrs after the last paid for ad. Average lead involves a small job with 6 people quoting. (and price not quality will be the decider) To be fair it did throw up couple of good jobs for a several k spent. Most other advertising mediums produce far better results per pound but if your good at what you are doing word of mouth will take over after a few years Regards Andy
  19. This one just come out of the paint shop with new wiring loom, sensors all bearings new, dodgy jensen drawbar replaced with better! under 750kg feeds lot better than old one and meets current hse requirments. should last me 4-5yrs and still worth 2-3 grand afterwards.
  20. Next time i will probably be ready for that . i only had 3k to spend for an antique last time, and that hurt at the time and i got lucky. Also it only does about 3 days a week and usually smallish domestic works so only runs for about an hour.
  21. I am in the middle on this one, my trusted old chipper(A521, 5yrs+) died recently as some peeps know. I pondered over the options. £21k for new machine or properly reconditioned one for £9500. (A530) Business been slow for last 5 months but just picked up again. Which would you take? I took the cheaper option but still not sure i took the right decision but then it was only 4 days downtime and no finance and its got to return over 4 yrs whereas a new one would need to do ten.
  22. no. best time to cut is def 30 secs after you sharpen the saw
  23. my dentistry experiences. aged 28 last visit to dentist aged 14. 1 nhs dentist 7 extractions and we can fill the rest. cost £144 2 private (south african)dental surgeon 2 extractions and repair the rest using best available materials and tecniques 18 seperate listed jobs £980. 7 years later return visit 7 minor jobs £330. Glad i took second opinion still only 2 down and i like steak, pork crackling ect I also decided to not bother with anaesthetic for most as more painful than just having it done
  24. i get a few like that every year. You do not need customers like that. Genuine customers that really do not know because either they rent or have no knowledge of conservation area and tpo regs are a different matter.
