  1. Hi, i'v not read past replies from the first page, but if you post some photo's i will gladly give you an idea of what i would charge, also describe the access including parking area and targets and exactly what you want doing with the arisings ie full site clearance , chip to stay, cord wood to stay, cord wood to be logged, and what about the stump? grinding or ground level finish?
  2. Well i missed a good night there its good when folks can meet up.
  3. Nice job T&C How long did it take? that would have taken me a while. What targets did you have to contend with?
  4. Hi mistahbenn, the problem is as you say, there are hundreds of so called Tree surgeons thanks to all the local collages Bicton , KMC and Cannington, to name a few, most are 'greenhorns' all will work for peanuts and so the value of a truly talented climber is lost, how many out there are prepared to pay for an experienced tree surgeon? you can have 6 hrs of my time for £180 or £330 for a 2 man climbing team, 6 hrs only. In all my time i have never known people so desperate, those with the skills should stick to there prices. Those who NEED staff should pay the prices. PS my diary is ok.
  5. Hi Pete yes it does make a big difference John is correct
  6. me too props you'l have to join me and Mark too:thumbup1:
  7. That rules me out of the party invite then:001_huh: me and Mark will have to go off for a quite drink on our own then:thumbup:
  8. OK H i know what you are on about, they will have to be containerized this time of year possibly 15 to 20L pots or bigger for standards @ 6' lets say @ £30 per tree, compost £5 per tree, support £5 per tree, labor £20 per tree, delivery ? so all said about £240 to £300 for the job , is that what you were thinking? plus VAT.
  9. Wish you luck ClimbingNev and welcome .
  10. 13. I sort of want to say Robinia ? its late, the bottle is now EMPTY
  14. Hi how about you give us a proper BS spec for the job look at bs4428 and bs4043 for ideas from that i am sure we will give a competitive price guide also now is not the best time to plant trees and the net is not the best source, try local growers and try personally selecting the trees, remember cheapest is not always best especially if you are going to provide a guarantee which i hope you are, hope that helps and i will be first up to indicate what costs you should charge.
  15. I agree with Tony, just give it more time, its still retaining its leaves, look at it next year and hopefully it will be ok, i'v planted some this year and there leaves have not even fully developed but they are still green and alive with plenty of stored energy in the roots. its been a really testing year for all our trees.
  16. B4 i go to bed let me put this another way, lets say best price for clear felling this site £1600, hows that b4 you all jump on me, lets then say subsidence issues continue and you are then named within the report as being the possible reason for the continued problem, how much do you think your first representation from your solicitor will be?
  17. Unless you are qualified and insured to provide advice on subsidence issues leave well alone ,forget advice from this forum on how best to do the job, unless you can obtain a clear spec from the insurance company's appointed Arb consultant , just pass the job on. The water demand of Poplar is High and the influencing distance is indicated as being calculated on modified plasticity index 36 eg only taking into account tree height @25m, not actual , 31.25m (zone of influence) there is a lot to consider , you also need to know actual foundation depth and type, and precise soil plasticity index , it is late and please don't every one jump on me, i do produce these things for a living , one other consideration is the current condition of the trees, and past and current climatic variations. hope that helps. eg only of things to consider .
  18. I think we all know right from wrong for me I am now of an age where money is no longer the drive, so i now just choose to do whats best for the trees and my advice to clients is based on that. simples
  19. Best soft porn i'v seen in a while , but just as good was the woman's pairs jumping in a pond,
  20. The best saw's which i buy from new were the old ms200 back handle saw, i have had 3 now over the years each from new about £400 run them just about every day , with a sharp chain, for about 4 to 5 years with very little maintenance, and never have to mess with the tuning, climbing with it as well, and then sell them on ebay for about £350 now thats magic, i just hope the new one is as good as the old one.
