  1. its a ganoderma australe!
  2. The U>S dollar is folding, and so they must rape the world to sustain an unsustainable fiat currency, and if we don't subscribe and slave to the behemoth we will pay one way or another. America is dying folks, but shes thrashing around still.
  3. Kids play, got a massive willow to remove from Carthagena weir soon, I will share images!
  4. yep, she is on the ancient tree database, if ive a chance I will come up and show it you spent a boxing day in here a few years ago
  5. My thoughts and love to you all, be strong.
  6. Not terminal for sure, providing good root conditions and all the right rhizospheric needs are met adequate compensatory growth will be assured.
  7. SWEET location, enjoy! and well done for this offer:thumbup1:
  8. Just another way of saying that there has been dysfunction in columns and hence the colourations:thumbup1:
  9. I will stick my two pennies worth in after others ahve had a chance to think on it. interesting tree really, not typical form in the crown architecture:001_cool:
  10. fantastic and very wise move for the AA Count my hand up!
  11. Guy, your barking up the wrong treeseer, think rays s think about flow, think about how ripewood formation occurs. this is not fungal, and there is not an argument /debate to be had regarding this case on the fungal issue!
  12. Hi, its a pretty basic thing really, and cant imagine its not well covered on the internet already? Basicaly as a tree matures and grows the central column (effectively a tree within a tree, as are all subsequent years growth) the wood ages becomes non functional to a degree and then tyloses form and in the case of Gymnosperms (as in this case) resins/terpenes are deposited into the cells for protection. This changes the colour of the wood which is kind of dead, its why we get heartwood rotters, highly hydrated cells (sapwood) is very limiting to fungal growth. if thats unclear let me know
  13. I am sorry that you've had a bad experience from our industry, next time contact a supplier from arbtalk, our community would do you right and if a member didnt it would be put right by one of us and the Member discommunicated!
  14. Land rovers rock, they break from time to time cos Land Rovers are meant to be abused!
  15. Classic arb talk! We need a thread for classics
  16. I was put off Landies for a long time by talk like that contained in this thread, Ive owned one for a little over six months now and no regrets. Mines an old 89, 200TDi I bought it because you dont have to plug her in, its as basic reliable and almost bullet proof as it gets. So Far I have had no issues bar a little low power to the trailer lights due to many chops and changes in the wire looms over the years. I think those that try to diss the land rover defender are just gutted because they didnt have the conviction to ignore the trashing they get, they opted for Jap junk, its human nature I guess.
  17. lol mechanics is pretty easy when You leave out all the BS surrounding it!
  18. indeed, Matthecks work (unlike the others) will stand the ages.
  19. Im going to stick to fibre buckle and leave you lot to pontificate!
  20. Remember Einstein's words, remember them well, they will tell you when someones adding flannel to the equations! " If an answer to a problem appears overly complex it is probably the wrong answer"
  21. a combination of Chestnut canker, leaf miner and drought i imagine. if trees get over the initial phase of canker they can occlude well but the drain on reserves of energy in doing so means there is no stretch left in the defensive rubber band.
  22. I know where your coming from John, I've been a workaholic too, owned my own business, done the council rapido crap and all shades in between. I just got to the point where I had to honestly ask myself is this all there is and what else would I like to split my time with, and we ALL have other things in life we would like to have more time for. I prefer working 3 days for the same as 5 and having two days over to read, write, walk, garden and generaly spend time with my friends and family.
