  2. as david but add dont panic, very early stages
  3. always remember that fruiting bodies is JUST SEX and nothing more, it requires two sexualy compatible myceliums to meet.
  4. A large area ( a vascular channel) of dysfunctional and now rotting wood is clearly visible, and also the reason for the slow and creeping (progressive) failure occurring as it twists, buckles and folds downward assisted by a lop sided and weighted crown. Wouldn't fell though, manage one far worse (like this one i suspect) has Laetiporus sulphureus, and in a high risk zone. I decided to maintain that one and keep it as its very handsome, large high amenity and all the body language suggests it will twist down and fold away from harm.
  5. I get the breast out without going near the crop:thumbup1:
  6. Perenniporias a rare one oak, good find
  7. as david says, and that mycelium IS Armillaria, probably ostoyea. it has been correctly identified and bootlaces are not always present, bootlaces are only needed for travel or extreme conditions
  8. This is misleading, probably not on purpose BROWN ROT DOES produce symptoms, sometimes subtle sometimes not, and in this case the extreme fluting is a sure sign of extensive heart rot which Paeolus is pretty much limited to in Pines unlike say Larix decidua and its in no way shape nor form Laetiporus sulphureus 'conifericola'
