Large Beech been dead a few years but thinking there could be some good large spalted Slab’s in it? (See photos) Anyone know someone with the right milling kit for large slabs near the Preston and Garstang area in Lancashire? Many thanks

Cheers Steve. Will do that. Thinking of working through the grits, 120,240,320 then a sanding sealer and then maybe a hard wax oil like Osmo which may not get soaked up as much

Looking to make a few desks out of some slabs I have and wondered what anyone may have used after sanding? Sanding sealer? Then Liberon finishing oil? Wax? Varnish? Cheers

I've got some second hand solid Oak flooring out of a house which I'm in the process of sanding back (first with 80 grit, then with 120 grit). It's going onto an OSB floor and not sure how to fix it. Looking for advice... -Glue it (Will the glue work on OSB?) -Floating (i.e. no glue, just straight onto the floor but then more likely to move around?) Many thanks in advance

I'm looking for advice for the best approach to getting this kitchen worktop back in to good nick? Was thinking lightly sand with say 240 grit and then some osmo oil on it but would be interested to hear what folk recommend... Thanks:thumbup1:

Definitely check the oil, check the age of it, consistency etc. But I definitely think the ambient temperature is the major issue. I do all my finishing in the house at this time of year. Annoys the crap out of my wife but I get good results! Paul

Thanks everyone for their helpful comments. I'll do a sample test and then decide of the 2 finishes wax or oil. To complete the loop I'll post back on here to show the finished work. Thanks again
