  5. wont get tech. with the tare and gross, but its carrying 12t of soft there when both bays full , and 185 old nags on the trac of fastness:001_tt2: not exceeeding my 24t train weight!
  6. some more pics Sir Shrek - taken today, loading up some softwood to bring back to the yard to turn into Sticks - anyone want to see the before shots of what we turn into kindling sticks - here it is - nice larch mostly, bigger stuff will be for larch logs, made a good load up:thumbup:
  7. why not have a quick measure quesstimate a cubic metreage and offer him so much per cube? - whats it worth to you !
  8. you need weight to pull weight for stopping - all tractor manufacturers will only allow about 3t on the drawbar weight if an accident - so weigh your nose weight of your trailer on a public weighbridge, brake wise i would fit brakes, i have always fitted brakes to all our trailers even our small 3t jobby, especiially if towing with a smaller tractor - now what you mean can be a hairy experience! best to be right gensetsteve for your own piece of mind.
  9. that took some time Olive ! VERY NEAT
  10. we use a cheap metal detector from maplin - about 30 quid i think, does the trick - found alsorts and cut round it - worth a try?
  11. yes if we sell to a processor or even if we sell processed logs to a garage etc we have to charge 17.5% (Standard Rate) if selling to the end user who is using the wood for fuel yes its 5% - i think weve only got 1 load left - already sold 1 i think - will have to check with boss!
  12. good for you mate - keep on logging:thumbup:
  13. will post you some Sir Shrek Alot, will get camera in hand tomorrow and show off my new concrete, and more bits of kit for your delictation! - how can I refuse the Top Poster with a taste for big machines!
  14. sounds the dogs bxxxxs, sort of thing wed do - thanks for reply mate and look forward to pics:thumbup1:
  15. what sort of suck/blow setup is it you use to get the shavings into the bags? trying to set something similar up ourselves - great setup their adamralph, good pics:thumbup:
  16. dont think that would go down to well, after mrs Logbaron, told them where to stuff their log supplies when they questioned paying £2 bag for hardwood nets and ringing up chasing on the sunday after ordering on the saturday when i was up scotland with mrs l. filling 50 nets and delivering at 9. sunday with two kids in tow! - she somehow didnt see the funny side at being criticised for filling, delivering and unloading infront of mr denstone hall farm shop standing their and giving her a dressing down on prices of how much we should charge him working it out that each net had 15 logs in and how could we possibly charge him over 10p per log!!!! xxxxxxx i think she called him:blushing:
  17. yes, thats the one, done alot of work to it since buying it, lights, brakes changed drawbar etc, and want to change the crane, bolsters etc, but its a good solid trailer on springs and not air so suits our tractors. been looking for something similar for ages, then i bought two in a month!
  18. we bought some plugs of shitake and oyster mushrooms from gourmet mushrooms for a trial on some poplar we got, couldnt firewood it as it takes too long to dryout, got about £180 quids worth of plugs , took the lad a few days to drill and peg all the logs, had a trial at the top field with round penny logs and long 3ft lengths, took a year to get any mushrooms to show of, and now 2nd year getting alot and big ones, will take some photos if i remember and post - was a success - but not had time to find markets for them
  19. dont really sell alot of timber direct as we process it all ourselves for firewood, only selling one or two loads of this beech as its smaller diameter than we usually put through our processor - get alot of enquiries for cordwood type hardwood so thought just post this thread for one or two loads available to save bringing it back to yard.
  20. that john deere is a 200hp with a power boost to 220hp, 50k on road:thumbup: the trailer im still working on not happy with the small crane, just bought another right off 45ft timber trailer with a middle loglift crane with aluminium bolsters which im going to swop all over onto this triailer,, then convert that crane to a 3pl spare yard crane, should be a good setup then with my other fastrac 65k 185hp should start shifting some, thanks for admiring it tommer - makes the work all worth while:thumbup:
  21. got some nice straight stemmed beech felled last year for sale- not seasoned - delivery in 12t lots at a time with our crane trailer only want to travel 25 miles radius derby if possible cut into 12foot lengths, diameters ranging from 4" upto 14" approx ideal for firewood processors. no large bits, or rubbish in - good quality wood for firewood weve been selling it ourselves this year, great firewood., ours dried out in a few months in drying nets! if interested, wanting £50/ tonne delivered plus VAT - as its nice straight stuff ready to cut quickly on a processor - no oversize or rubbish! pm me if interested or ring 07970 040755 please note; pics show similar load of sycamore, beech what we have been bringing out of the wood, etc not the actual load you would be getting, just posted to show similar load you would be getting.
