  1. its a 2.5 i think, its only a yard machine 2wd, but you can spend a bit more and find second hand 3 or 3.5t ones with 4wd, still dont have alot of ground clearance and useless in mud but ok on rough yard. it loads our artics with firewood no problem loading from one side only and reaching through and up onto the secondlayer. joy
  2. weve also got a 520/5 and its hardly had anything done to it in 10 years, it gets neglected its the last to have its service and yet its the most reliable, parts are dead cheap, jcb worldparts is right next door to us, and they will carry stock for all the old machines, easy to fix yourself, on rough or mud its brilliant, high ground clearance, but for a tight yard machine on concrete in and out sheds, and unloading/loading lorries you need side shift and a compact teletruk is ideal, so i dont think there is one machine that does everything, thats why we still run two machines. joy
  3. for a concreted yard, in and out of containers would have to be a jcb teletruk, will fit into a container has sideshift, will boom out like a loadall, but turns virtually on its own footprint, second hand diesel can be got for about 7k. we have one and once got one wouldnt be without it. joy
  4. We regularly send logs and sticks palletised throughout the UK never had a problem. We use pallet ways
  5. Right thanks for that it's been a nightmare from start to finish as they wanted a hefty fee upfront and I seem to have had nothing better than I had before

  9. Kindlet is the best machine on the market but to get the most out of it best with two operators. Or yes you can operate single handed and have the sticks fall into a rota bagger.

  11. Wood wasp. I felt a scratch on my leg thought it was a splinter through my trousers it was a wood wasp trying to inject it's eggs into my knee. Should of seen me jump. cracked myself. As I must of smelt of wood as when I get sap on my hands I wipe it on my trousers.

  16. Speaking to alot of my farmer friends recently, they all believe we shall be having a bad winter, cold and snow - from their thoughts that we had a good harvest that there are lots of berries etc about. any body else think so?? joy
  17. had discoverys since 1995 and every model, we have a 55 plate disco 3 been running it about 4-5 years now had a few bits and bobs but for the miles we do and towing trailers and large caravan and we regularly travel upto scotland and down to london it into the woods off road etc never misses a beat and so comfortable if the lads go off in it - its a landrover you criticise it you love it and hate it but nothing else would do the job as well on road or off.
