  3. thought id share my thoughts on my new toy as theres always posts about what splitter to buy . After alot of googling i finaly made my mind up on a wallenstein wx540 and there is no doubt its a great machine , really well built and hasnt struggled at anything yet tows nicely on the road and is actually road legal compared to other chinese copies that are only suitable up to 10 mph , Andrew is a great guy to deal with and always replied to calls and emails promptly which is a rareity these days ,all in all im dead chuffed and well worth spending a little extra and getting something designed for the job for those of you looking at some of the ones on ebay at around 1500 quid i would seriously suggest saving up a little extra as ive used a couple of those before and they fall to bits within weeks good job wallenstein thanks again to andrew chester

  14. hey rob ,its paradise drive eastbourne ,which goes round eastbourne royal golf club , do you know it ? and yep have all been take downs , todays was the tallest one ive done , i kept looking across at the big one thinking its gona be a miracle if it survives i dont think its common knowledge that its the tallest one but it really is a beast !
  15. round sussex i reckon this year is one of the worst weve had for a while , weve been working with east sussex and i reckon weve felled nearly 80 good sized elms in 3/4 weeks some were on the list as the oldest 200 + in wilmington, 20 trees came out of that tiny village alone and it looks so empty now , i know ive had enough of bonfires in this heat now !thats for sure !
  16. ignore me

  18. i bought a load of stuff from you does that count !: good on ya for stopping im sure he was gratefull
  19. ok guys for the last month all weve been doing is elm work ,as you might have seen in some of my prevoius posts weve taken down some pretty big lumps , but to start this week weve been working in an area with allegedly the tallest elm in the uk ,today i took down one next to it which measured just over 90 ft and looking across at the tallest one i reckon its gota be between 120- 130 ft ,it would be such ashame to lose it so does anyone know of any similar sized elms around the country ? or is this definatly the tallest elm in the uk ? i shall some post some pictures tommorow
  20. i dont really get what you mean by that ? i dont put the kids food in a bowl on the floor if thats what you mean , what im saying is that they both depend on us for there survival dogs dont have the abilty to get up and fill there water bowl up do they . its up to us to care for them and make sure they lead a decent life and we should treat them as you would expect to be treated .WITH LOVE AND CARE . i do agree though that he shouldnt have been allowed to be in that posistion again
  21. i took my two collies fishing the other day and felt guilty cos i forgot a bowl for their water ! even though there was pond that would suffice ! how any one can be so thoughtless especially coming from a dog handler is beyond me , RESPECT ?? i dont think so . if that had been two children he would be done for manslaughter , and i see animals no diferent as they depend on us just like kids , poor dogs
  22. have been looking at these for a while now , prices seem reasonable in comparison with simlar spec machines ,just wondered if anybody has one/used one?
  23. anyway my prices have gone up since my claim to fame with the bbc yesterday !
  24. the old "its for a freind line" i get ya ! on a serious note anybody wanting a good day with a good guy shoulkd take this oppertunity
  25. for the last 2 weeks solid all weve doing is dutch elm desiese work and this week i finally got famous with the bbc filming a short piece that was shown last night on south today i would put up a link but not sure how ? i reckon in the last 6 days weve felled between 50-60 mature elm and this week weve been concentrating on 3 pretty sizable ones that had phone lines ,sheds .fences and an oil tank beneath , heres a few piccys of the one we did today , it was completly hollow at about 6 feet up to maybe 20 feet then 35 feet of crown above that witch all had to be rigged down . that last pic is the height were leaving that one at ,but all has to be debarked !
