  1. normal people just dont do this sort of thing ! defo give him the boot :thumbup1:id be worried what he does on his computers
  2. bit of a derail but did you have a look at that 110 tipper on ebay ?
  3. without speaking to the people who,s tree it is i wouldnt even consider touching it ? you could still give the neighbour an idea of price if she the one who is paying but without speaking to the owners id leave well alone !, i had a similar one last year with a chap getting me to qoute removal of 5 conifers so i turned up at his house and he took me next door where we had to jump the fence cos he said hed lost the key to his newly aquired property i thought something didnt seem right and on the wayout i noticed a to let sign stuffed behind the hedge ! so i phoned the estate agents and they had just put it on the market to sell ! , ive never been rude to any potential customers but i lost it with him and gave him a right earfull .
  4. thats always my thoughts but i always end up eating it all !!
  5. that sounds good are you likely to do them on weekends ? i presume you work all week ,
  6. get a slow cooker ! (and i dont mean a women that cant cook !) i use it every week ,monday = spag bowl , tuesday = beef stew wed= chicken curry = thursday = chicken cassarole ,friday = takeaway+ pub
  7. do you get to do many private jobs hama i wouldn't mind being your groundy and see you do one of your fine reductions
  8. thanks mate the idea sounds good too i like the idea of groundys doing the work getting the branches out the tree ! your right about pictures never coming across right , they dont show the real spread of the crown and in some places i dont reckon i took 25 % and i was pretty much at the tips of most branches (or at least it felt like it !)
  9. got ya , ,
  10. sorry you lost me a bit hama ,are you trying to say the spec they gave me was wrong for this tree ?
  11. to be honest i don,t think i could of done any less , id like think im pretty agile but id have been pushing it to go further ,
  12. basically apart from taking a few heavier bits out we tried to do 25 /30 most of the way , i agree that trees dont always have to be a lollipop especially an oak because they look good all narly , the owner didnt really care to much about the tree as all he was worried about was his satellite dish On a different note there were some pretty long limbs over hanging the rear gardens that had to be roped down which was a right pain as there was branches below for everything to get stuck on so i ended up reducing some of it from the ground up if you know what i mean ? just wondered what you guys do if you have to rope stuff while doing a reduction , it doesnt half wind me up when the groundy keeps shouting "can you just throw it over here" lol
  13. good on you , its quite satisfying educating people and actually seeing them come round to the idea the less is sometimes more !
  14. yeh too true , i new it wasnt gona look great from every angle as you would have to reduce one side by 50 % and the other by 20 % , you nver really know the past history but it does make you wonder why it was done like that , even if the 3 big ,limbs had been wind blown or whatever and the job was to tidy it up , why on earth they didnt think it would be a good idea to balance the whole crown as a high pollard and make it half sensible ,still ours is not to reason why !!!
  15. did this job friday and took a couple of hours this morning to finish , the oak had a tpo on it and we were given 25 %- 30 max , bit of a thin and a crown raise over the road , to be honest although im pleased with it , it was a pain of a job as the left of the crown had 3 major limbs cut right back many years ago and the other side of the crown not touched at all so would have been completely unbalanced so had to try and match it in with the back side of the crown overhanging 3 gardens with sheds greenhouses an assortment of pots and plants and knackered trellised fences ! all in all hard work but worth it as got 4 possible jobs from it
  16. also worth noting that if your buying just the engine and it comes out of a discovery then a few more mods need changing
  17. the only place he should go in cage like that is in with some great whites !
