  1. Wife got a oral b 4000 electric toothbrush for £10
  2. Two cows one each no vegetarians in our house.
  3. If I need furniture or appliances best time to buy is when everyone is on holiday with the kids in July august. The sheds are dead and they are desperate for sales and commission. The lemming event on Boxing Day is amusing to watch and now Black Friday. People killing each other to save an inflated amount on a cheap Turkish tele
  4. It's a Landrover john be grateful it goes Probably a combination of warm fuel getting through the lift pump better and moving through the filters easier. Warm fuel burns easier and better.Possibly breather restricted. As said less weight of fuel.
  5. Because she'll fuel floats on top of tesco. So when you get low the proper fuel you bought two years ago starts getting used.
  6. Racor do one that actually separates out any water and allows diesel through.
  7. An alternative view point and a good one. How often have we past miles of road works and cones only to find no work going on. People are probably sick of the over top h&s nanny state. Unfortunately what they don't realise is sealing off a drop zone is absolutely essential. On a building site a brick might fall in the next month. In a drop zone a chop will land every few seconds. Eventually you will have to erect 6 ft heras fence just for a few hours work.
  8. Winter grade has additives to prevent waxing. Summer grade does not but has additives to help protect pump and engine in hot conditions. Fuel is critical now days with £100,000 tractors and combines running common rail engines dirty fuel is deadly and expensive.
  9. I service dozens of big generators and we have very few problems. Not saying this is your problem but good house keeping prevents problems. Normally the problem is already in the bottom of the tank. Drain your fuel tanks and get the steam cleaner in there. Your bulk tank should have an inspection cover drain it then tip it up to see if there is water and gunk in the bottom. If there is get the last bit out with soak mats. Fuel bought now is winter grade and will stay fresh for at least 3 months. After that time the solvents are evaporating and the veg oil starts to separate and mix with any water. White and red is exactly the same fuel and will behave the same. The reason road vehicles are less prone is good storage conditions and it is used quickly. Try to run your tanks down so you don't mix too much summer and winter grade. Fresh fuel in a dirty tank will absorb the moisture very quickly.
  10. The heaters they are looking at on here can be set off by a timer or remote control to preheat the engine. The old sprinters were set up with the heaters because the engine was set up to be overcooled to give a safety margine. All makes have problems with dpfs but I have not heard of rising oil levels. The other thing to investigate is whether the regeneration is actually the problem or is the injection pump leaking is the head cracked. Is the injection timing correct.
  11. The temperature of 600 deg is in the exhaust not the engine. Your engine will run at about 90 deg. Starting off in the morning may not cure your dpf problem but it will go along way to help it as most of the clogging will be when the engine is not up to temp ie 10 minutes every morning. These heaters are more useful to common rail than they are to old 90's diesels hence the reason the disco 3 and 4 have them fitted and they run on start up at temps below 6 deg. Any engine 1920 or present day will benefit hugely when starting from 60 deg the reason merc taxis do a million miles and biddy cars are often clapped at 60 k
  12. I have not heard the hilux having these problems and I drove both vehicles in my opinion I could live with the hilux not the dmax. The hilux draw back for me was the 2.8 tonne tow limit but that does not bother you. I think if you fit a heater you could be throwing good money after bad and trying to polish a turd.
  13. I think what he was getting at was if the engine was at running temp there would be less crap for the dpf to deal with less regenerations and fuel dilution. Also nice warm cab no scraping windscreens with the engine running. Could be worth a thought.
  14. The standard single cab only carries 700 kg so with that lot bolted on I doubt the pay load is great.
  15. You might need a different vehicle you definately need another garage. If they are stupid enough to lower the level they are not bright enough to look at the software and get to the bottom of the problem. If it's in warranty peck their heads until it's fixed. If it's out of warranty get rid. I had a disco d4 commercial a year ago heap of crap with the v6 ford engine never out the dealer had to go. Nothing worse than a work truck you can't trust to get you home or you are constantly listening for the next noise.
  16. I can see the logic in this. Especially if someone in the past tried to add a bit of extra tension to the band and bent the frame. It may just be a case of bending back until things are in line when tensioned. Then realeasing and adding some extra webs and strengthening to the frame so it does not happen again. Bit of a long shot but it sounds like you have tried all the obvious.
  17. Do you have a link to the face book page
  18. If you don't ask you don't get. To some tree surgeons the timber is gold because they have the time to turn it into logs. To other more busy tree surgeons the wood is a curse and someone offering to collect in a decent large trailer is a god send especially if you are buying the whole crew kfc or similar.
  19. We do a top quality tight packed orange net 40x50 weighing about 4 kg bone dry. We now also do a green net which is slightly larger generally tight packed but not as neat 60x45 weighing about 6 kg both the same price. If your not far away come over for a look. Pm sent with price.
  20. I think it depends on the species and the age of the timber. I guess we have all been surprised at the weight of the old pallet left out in the rain for weeks.
  21. So not far from us then most of our customers specialise in selling logs so are most efficient concentrating on that. We don't sell logs but have geared up just to do kindling. You could do some your self and top up with ours if you can't keep up. You should get 250 in a transit van.
  22. I never know what to tell people starting in kindling. Am I going to continue yes I am, would I start from scratch now the answer would be no. If you cut a pile of 6 in blanks and feed them and bag them yourself you will do about 30 bags an hour. I bet you won't be far behind with a hatchet. The kindlet comes into its own when there are 2 people and the stock going in is on the small side. If you have a good local market I would keep it simple. I would not worry about the supermarkets in a week or so the firewood will be pushed to the back of the store to make way for the Christmas toot. If people can spend a million on a house and 140 k on a Range Rover they don't tend to shop round for things like kindling as the price looks reasonable who knows what a bargain price is for kindling or how much you get in a bag.
  23. We had the same machine driven by a 3 phase motor it looked like it had the ability to cut the fingers off both hands at the same time. I never bothered and sold it on to some one less cowardly than me.
  24. Just take them out and drop them in a glass of Pepsi removes everything apparently.
  25. Buy the right size generator and save the 25 k by not having the hybrid. Run the security from a small diesel lister or an off grid system that charges during the day.
