  1. I think its also a max weight of 24 tonnes for the combination
  2. We do strong monofilament bags of kiln dried pine. Neatly packed well filled bags for £1.80 ea + vat but we have been so over run with orders we are going to struggle to get enough timber. We currently have orders and wood till end of October. If we get in front and have the wood I will post up with whats available. Bags are 40x50 and weigh around 4kg. You dont want to sell too big a bag as they will take longer to come back and most people think £5 max for a bag. Better to supply smaller and do a deal for 3 bags.
  3. I am not sure what they use but they need to be at least as wide as the bump stops. If I get a minute do you want a pic. I would guess escort springs would be better. The good thing about it is they dont do alot until you have some weight on. Proper heavy duty springs make the back end rock hard when empty
  4. Yes and more in the trailer Clarkson said it will be fine.
  5. Put a coil spring from a car between the bump stops. Have them on mine works a treat when unloaded not rock hard when loaded does not drop too far. Put 400,000kg in mine looks ok. The heater works and you dont need to open the window to drive it.
  6. An arrogant copper in your drop zone.
  7. Hope no one hurt lorry was clean off down the embankment. Cab looked smashed but intact.
  8. You could blow the warranty out and send them to spud. £10 carriage ea way
  9. Pm Sent
  10. Fast burning firewood is often free and saves you going down the gym. The only timber I am not keen on in a wood burner is oak.
  11. Try lc packaging
  12. Yes Jon bought used and sold. Dont know what happen to trailer in pic just come by it.
  13. I was on my way to cherry products to decide what to spend regards brakes on our Timber trailer. Partly due to seeing this I decided on new air brake system through out. That is my discovery you can see in the distance bit spooky I thought someone was trying to tell me something.
  14. If your boss is avoiding vat I bet he has avoided the whole insurance thing as well. I would be keen to see if any insurance is in place and if you are covered on it.
  15. I have bought the cheap smelly parafin ones from a manufacturer in hull. They would be about 30p a pack now. You will need to spend £600 to get that price. They sell for £1-£2. So £600 0ut at least £1800 back in
  16. I would agree I have moved green oak and ash was not too bad but green pine and beech incredibly heavy. Mostly beech around here
  17. No Jon anything related to making logs long gone
  18. I like to have twice as much brakes as I need. If I am short on power I have gears and two fingers. If you are towing large loads of timber about you cant carry on like people did 15 years ago unless you like porridge. We had two axles that were rated 8 tonnes ea but were test for 100% overload when built. The whole lot was maintained and up together. Thats how I liked it different people different strokes I suppose.
  19. Your more than likely right we never pulled 14 tonne. Tractor and trailer often used to top 28 tonnes before we dropped a few tonne back off. And yes I am sure we used to go too fast.
  20. If you were going to spend 9k on a crane would you put it on a used trailer that needs work. 400kg is alot of weight for the hitch to handle and not great for the truck if its loaded. It put less nose weight on if you stretch the crane out and secure on the tailboard.
  21. similar set up to what we did but your on a bigger scale. I have seen those concrete sides when they pile salt for the winter. If you need to make a living thats the way to do it in my opinion.
  22. Its alot easier with processor and log deck. The hard work is dealing with some of the public.
  23. Looking closer you are right probably tows better with the nose weight unloaded suprised the trailer only weighs 850kg
  24. Superb a proper usefull bit of kit. Surprising how the smaller trailers with no sides or ramps you can save weight over the 18ft triaxle things you see about.
