  12. they are good jackets dak, take a beating and good to climb in (for a waterproof jacket). mine has one small tear but it hasnt got bigger since it happened.
  13. hey robin, yeah i used it single line, tied off the pre installed line at the base, srt'd up then got out through a limb and dropped down to the casualty. like i said i had to explain all this to the judges before i did it but it worked out good, it seems to depend on the individual event though as kevin said.
  14. i had to explain what i wanted to do beforehand in detail to them but otherwise all good, and real useful for that rescue!
  15. this is from the teetools website - "Ascend or descend using doubled rope technique (DdRT) - all in one unit! Works the same way as a friction hitch but instead of friction cord the Lockjack has an aluminum cam which pinches the line when under load. The cams can be easily replaced - the unit comes with two different size cams - one for 11-12 mm rope and the other for 12-13 mm. Your rope will run freely through the Lockjack when not under load ensuring no slack in your line. Great for limb walking. Includes a built-in swivel to eliminate twisting of your line. This device is very sensitive and only suitable for experienced climbers. CE Certified. " i don't know if this is straight from a.r.t but obviously it doesnt mention srt so i'm guessing they don't intend it for that use, however i think its fair to say that it works and theres quite a few people using it day to day. might be a hard one to argue though for the comp. good luck!
