  2. Climb as high as you can if you make a mistake its harder for the asseser to spot but other than that relax and enjoy yourself.
  3. Hi tom looking on ebay under hiab theres an iveco on there would make wicked timber truck needs a bit of work but could be a cheap solution if only a temporary one.

  4. Went to tesco last night and the magazine national geographical has a feature on the biggest trees in the world if your interested .
  5. Some ms200s blew 0il seals these have to be repaired by stihl,but it sounds like this could be your problem,makes em smoke like hell.

  8. Daft idea but when they dip and strip doors etc when they have removed the caustic they then coat the doors in vinegar to stop them from cracking when theyre drying might be worth a try great looking job though,ill have a look on saturday cheers mate.

  14. We felled the tree in that manner to stop it from striking headstones we only had about 15foot of felling space,idealy we should have chogged it down lower but the timber was that heavy and it werent the nicest thing to climb even in spikes,just wanted it down.

    Yes i have a 981 80cc i think good saw but not as refined as the big 2 but each to their own.
  16. You should have walked down the road to glendurgen they have some of the biggest pines in cornwall truly awsome.

  20. I sell a cabstar load of seasoned mixed logs for 100 pounds dont know the weight but its level with the sides hope this helps cheers brian.
  21. We had this problem,got hold of husqvarna and they gave us 2 new carbs no charge problem solved.
  22. 250 per day is about all you can charge down this end,i do ok cause i dont have many overheads,but compared to others i do think i might need to up my prices next year,but thanks for all the positive comments.

Went to look at a job tonight,the job in question was a 40 foot sycamore twin stemmed with bt lines through it and to one side a green house,if the job went well you could probably have got it done and dusted in 6 hours.i have a day rate of 250 pounds per day and thats what i quoted based on 2 men chipper truck etc,when i said this he screwed his face up and said ive had cheaper quotes 2 infact,i asked how cheap he said 150 quid im thinking pikeys straight away but he then produced the quotes and showed me,one i didnt know,but the otherone on paper at least is one of the biggest firms goin .The client said if i matched their quotes i could have the job,as i seemed the most amiable,but i said no as i explained to him that i wouldnt be making anything from the job,i told him to go with the bigger firms quote and went on my way,but was i right it felt right i just cant see how they were goin to make any money out of the job,unless the recession bit harder than i thought rant over cheers brian.
