  1. Cheers guys as i thought really although someone told me that you had to have a certain amount of money,in the bank to prove you can run and maintain it any truth in this cheers DB.

Been toying with the idea of getting a 7.5 tonner with hiab,it just ticks all the right boxes,but ive never had a operators licence before,i wont be carrying any paid loads just what i cut for my self,how easy is it to get one and are there ways around one,ie special purpose vehichle,or mabe a limited use operators ,i know you used to be able to get one,any input would be great:confused1:
  3. If you work for the council or similar they insist you refresh,but on private work you dont need to.

  6. Just checked and the trousers im using are the stihl advance type a,and there brilliant.
  7. Hi i went from the oregon to a pair of stihl type a these are the latest ones with the water proof fabric to the front,and they are great light and stretchy,cost about 130 pounds but well worth it,also i dont find them at all cold,icant praise them enough they are brilliant.

Last week i got to use a 6 inch jensen,nice looking chipper but thats where it stops,it was crapp the anti stress came in when you chipped anything bigger than a twig,and the chip just about made it to the front of the chip box all in all very dissapointing,not as good as a 150 in my opinion,and this chipper was less than a year old.
  9. Id opt for the 150 great chippers and youll be getting warranty,we run a 190 with 700 hours on it gives us next to no trouble and of it does go wrong you can fix most things yourself,plus your buying british always a good thing.

  11. Just spent 80 quid on a set of stihl water proofs(what a mistake,there rubbish),they make you sweat so bad you might aswell take your chances with the rain,very dissapointed.
  12. I did think about cornwall farmers and also someone suggested kenny hall in leeds town ,ill make some calls on monday cheers.
  13. We were working with another firm this week and they were all wearing cofra boots,just done a search and they look ok ,high spec and low price anyone tried them and are they any good.

  15. Cheers steve we need something to pull over some large pines in a cemetary,trouble is the ground is very boggy on the side we need to fell into,i supose a 100 bhp tractor with a loader would do us fine,cheers DB.
  16. Used a brand new 660 today what a saw power speed and amazing balance,get crimbo out the way and thats my first purchase,one thing though it seems one hell of a jump from the 660 to the 880 why dont they make something in between.
  17. Hi folks got some big jobs coming up and a 4x4 tractor would be handy,were down in cornwall,and i was wondering are their any firms out there who hire out such a thing,any help on this matter would be nice cheers DB.

  19. Get youself a motorbike mate at least then youll have a chance,dave says youve been doing some climbing of late,good on ya keep at it and youll get a break.
  20. Were down in cornwall and fortuanateley they still hire stihl aswell as sell them.
  21. We get all our saws through BRANDON TOOL HIRE,because were good customers we get good deals ms200t way less than 400 quid,its worth having a chat with the hire firms.

  23. That iveco looks the muts not so sure about the price though,Tommer,chill out man youll do yerself a mischeif if you carry on like that RELAX.
