  4. Hi SOC Please try replacing the forward latch relay in the circuit, this relay allows the current to the control valve once the relay has latched in, but if itis faulty will allow the current to the reverse side of the valve (safety reasons). The relay is located in the engine compartment near the no stress unit. If you are still experiencing problems please call in on 01449 765820 regards TW Tech Support
  5. Hi Karl If you have broken a fan you cannot replace a single fan side. The fans have to be replaced as a pair because the rotor needs to be balanced and it cannot be guaranteed that the rplacement is the same weight as the original , hence it is highly recommended to replace the pair. It is a reletivly easy job to do Slacken and remove the 3 drive belts Remove taperlock and drive pulley from shaft REmove the rear bearing housing Remove the hopper and feed tray Take off both motor and slide from the drives Remove the Roller box assembly Remove front plate complete with rotor assembly When you replace the fans use the same nuts and bolts in the same holes as there is balancing washers under each bolt and these to be put back in the same place. Clean rotor face and remove any debris Torque bolts up to 30 then 40 & then 50 lbs ft in sequence refit the front plate then refit all parts in reverse order If you are not confident to perform the work we would recommend that you seek assistance from a TW dealer. hope that this helps you regards TW Tech Support

  8. Hi Adam Sorry that you have experienced a problem. The situation you describe indicates a possible switch fault, Please check for mechanical and continuity ALL the switches in your control box plus the safety bar switch. Please check correct rpm of engine, it should be 3400 rpm Please also check the tension of the drive belts, they should be 'Ping' tight Please check the sensor for the no stress is as close as possible to the trigger wheel and is clean. If after you have checked these things and you still are having problems please call me on 01449 765820 and we will try to assist further. Good luck Regards Technical Support
  9. Hello Sam, The TW 150DHB and the TW 190DHB did indeed use the same engine but that is where the comparison ends. The 150 is designed to give maximum chipping performance whilst being under 750kg in weight and is therefore limited to the size of flywheel etc that it can run. The TW 190DHB does not have the weight restrictions and can therefore run a heavier flywheel that can take full advantage of the engine characteristics to produce a higher work rate than the 150 model. The extra performance comes from the gearing of the rotor to the engine and the extra rotor mass that creates considerably more inertia and hence more performance. A standard TW 190DHB has a throughput of between 33% and 50% greater than a 150 model - so if time on the job is important to you and not towing weight, I would still consider the 190 model as a viable purchase. I hope this helps. Regards Richard
  10. Hi Dean We apologise if this has caused you some problems, I have checked and the motors are painted as part of our production process. I will raise a question internally to see if for the future this can be masked over. many thanks for the feedback, TW welcome all comments. Hope that you resolved the problem that you had. Regards TW Tech Support.
  11. Hi Dean Not a silly question : Your new machine is designed to suck in cool air rather than blow out the warm air, earlier machines did the reverse. The design was changed due to the fact that in certain operational conditions damage to the radiator was experienced, and by changing from blow to suck this eliminated the problem. Machines have been like this for many years now. Hope this answers your question regards TW Tech Support
  12. Hi Adam Please can you call the tech support help line on 01449 765820 and we will guide you through the checks you need to make and answer any questions regarding the No stress unit set up. regards TW Tech Support
  13. Hi Busternick This could be as simple as the the roller is jamming up with small particles and requires a good clean out of the roller box or it could be that a componet is worn and requires replacement. I would suggest that you remove the bottom drive motor, which is held on by 2 M12 Caphead screws and check the roller for any foreign objects jamming up or any excess play in the roller assy. If there is any damaged parts they should be easily identified when the motor is removed, and at least you can see the condition of the spline drive on the motor and roller very easily. Dont forget to put some grease in the roller box (non graphite) when you re assemble. Hope this helps TW Tech Support
  14. Hi Mex_Nick Thanks for the serial number , that is a great help in identification of the parts fitted. to answere the last questions first, if you are stripping the machine down it is better to replace the bearings at this time asyou can give all the bearing surfaces a clean and also can check the shafts are not worn. You have a split shaft fitted(latest option) To remove the rotor completly you must take off the Front Plate from the rotor housing and (assuming that you have removed the drive train pulley and the hydraulic pump pulley) as you have already removed the 4 bolts from the rear housing this should enable you to lift out the rotor and front plate assembly. To remove the front plate undo the 2 bolts holding the front bearing housing, with this removed the front plate should lift off. Whoever told you to replace the fan sections as a pair is totally correct as they are weight matched at the factory. The rotor has to be balanced if the fans are replaced, when you remove each of the 3 bolts holding each section please ensure that the same bolt with the same number of washers are put back in the same hole, this will aid the balancing process. When you tighten up the bolts please use a calibrated torque wrench and set it to 30 lbs ft and do all the bolts up then set it to 40 lbs ft and retighten them set to 50 lbs ft then retighten again, by doing it in three stages it stops inputting stresses into the casting. When replacing the 2 x front bearings ensure that the shims that are already installed are re installed. When you have re assembled the rotor the torque setting for the front bearing nut is 65lbs ft When you re assemble the front plate to the rotor housing the torque setting for the M12 nuts is 65lbs ft Please check to ensure that there is free movement on the rotor when installed. Please check the alignment of the pulleys when replacing them as this is very important. Hope that this gives you the information you require but if you need any further assistance you can call on 01449 765820 the tech support line. regards TW Tech Support.
  15. Hi The symptoms you describe are typical of a sticky relay or switch. The relay in the system is an SRB 500 which you can purchase locally for a few pounds, it is a push in pull out relay , please use either Hella or lucas makes as a replacement. Your switches need to be checked out for correct operation, both mechanically and electrically, please check all the switches in the switch box and the control bar switch as well. If you are still experiencing problems please contact us at Tech Support 01449 765820 regards TW Tech Support
  16. Hello Steve To aid in the removal of these blade bolts, take a round piece of bar (Brass, Copper or Aluminium) about 6" long. Hold it against each bolt head and strike the bar in turn with a good-sized hammer. Then use a pointed tool (Scriber or small screw driver) to pick every bit of impacted wood from the head of the bolt, take your time and get very bit out. Take the socket driver and insert it into the head of the bolt and give a firm tap with the hammer (don't over do it) to make sure it is well into the socket. If you have an impact driver it's best to use it. If not, use your wrench in the socket driver to undo the bolts. Normally this works a treat. The shock of striking the head with a hammer normally releases stubborn bolts. We hope that helps you. Timberwolf Tech Services.

  20. Hello Also one other thing, what type of control box on the top of the funnel do you have, a grey unit with buttons or a black metal unit with paddles? regards TW Tech Support
  21. Hi Mex_Nick This sounds like the forward latch relay has started to play up and requires replacement, the relay is located near the engine management system, it is a black plastic square relay which should just pull out. You can purchase a new one locally the type is an SRB 500. try to use either a Hella or Lucas replacement Before you replace the relay just check all connections to the relay base for tightness and no damage to wires. Hope this sorts your problem regards TW Tech Support
  22. Hi Parts can be ordered from TW if you have an account with us, otherwise we would route you through a dealer. Please call 01449 765818 to contact our spares dept who will be able to advise you fully. regards TW Tech Support
  23. Hi Again There are no specific torque settings for these bolts but the general rule of thumb is that they are tightened up as follows:- M8 bolts - 17 lbs ft or 23 Nm M10 bolts - 34 lbs ft or 46 Nm M12 bolts - 60 lbs ft or 80 Nm If you require new springs our part no. is 18070 and can be purchased through our spares dept. Hope that this helps and solves the issue you have, regards TW Tech Support
  24. Hi Rangermatt Please check the bolts for tightness on the slider bar to ensure free movement of the slider in the roller box, and parts are not damaged etc.. If you remove the springs the slider should lift to the top and slide to the bottom, the springs are there to give assitance to this action. With a machine having done 6000 hours it could be that the springs are exhausted and the action of you putting through a 6" log through to fully extend them has the action of increasing the elasticity of them, alternativly it could be that there is some wear in the components and this causes the slider to stick, The natural gap on a 150 machine is approx 12mm hope this helps regards TW Tech Support
  25. Hello Jon Give Timberwolf Tech Support a ring on 01449 765820, give them the details of the machine. Serial number and hours, they can then see if with a few tests it's turns out to be a simple one. If not you may have to visit Lister Wilder. Good luck in you new venture, have you thought about allowing a Timberwolf Dealer to give it the once over? This would pay dividends in the long run. Regards Technical Support
