  1. Im only asking for advice on the power line side of things, tomorow were phoning the power network anyways if they get a shut down then its no worries i just wasnt sure about mewps and powerlines, before i ring them up. Normally theres no issues we phone power network they send engineer out they then book a shut down or cover the wires and easy done. Never had work near big wires like these though that was all.
  2. I have won the job, im phoning ukpn to get the shutdown or watever they say to get the job done
  3. I should add i no the history of the tree ive lived in the village all my life, its always leaned right out it has just suddenly gone and isnt touching the wires but just hanging over the first wire, its in a very stable position on the fence im 99% sure it wont budge anymore had a few fail along this footpath and the fence has held them everytime.
  4. Plan is phoning ukpn tomorow so hopefully they will send out someone and it will be all go
  5. Got asked to quote this tree this evening, 2ft plus ash, won the job my plan of action is get the powerlines covered (as i cant see them shutting down or taking down main wires in a hurry) and tree is hanging over a very well used footpath, get a mewp in as the tree is failed and being held up by the metal spiked fence. I no climbing around covered wires is fine done it before but i no cranes have to cover all where the machine will reach so would this be the same for mewps? How would you guys tackle it? Ideally id love to cut through it and hope it brushes off the wires. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  10. Were in the same boat, just bought a l200 going to get peter to do a chip box. We cant justify a pro tipper cost for it. Plan on getting a load handler 110 quid plus vat is a much cheaper option and dont have to dig the chip off.
  11. wood, wood, wood, my colleague recently went on a wood fuel course and anything that is seasoned right there all as good as each other so i burn anything mostly conifer and ash my fire is red hot.
