  1. im glad some people are charging good rates by the sounds of it. we turn up to each job with 40/50 grands worth of kit day in day out that all needs to be paid for, dont no why some people are so shocked to hear some of the prices. in todays money what can you get today for £1000 not alot.
  2. we wouldnt go out on are own should be at least 2 men on site, let alone cutting up fallen trees in high winds at night. are normal day rate is between 400/500 plus vat a day min for 2 men truck and chipper. we are totally stacked out with work, little jobs we charge 200 plus vat min it might have taken you 1.5 hrs to clean up but it will have been at least another hour on top of that getting your gear together and travel time etc.
  3. We dont get much emergency work round here but when we do we know what we would charge to do it in normally then double it for emergency stuff. At a guess for us 1.5hrs work would be min 200+vat so id say 400+vat min
  4. Part of todays job 2 meter reduction to this nice oak tree on a main road. Home by 3pm. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  11. Nice slippy ash on a wet and windy day next to powerlines i can thnk of nothing better lol Its not as big as it looks that sling it was first out the bag and was fine for the job thats the only reason.
  12. job for today and yesterday was to dismantle these 2 ash trees, very wide 20/30ft wide conny hedge to top again. a fair sized plum dismantle over a greenhouse. weather was poor but we got it all done. first bit of lowering from are casual groundy sam i talked him though ideally what should happen, few bits were static from to many wraps but he got most of it right
  13. nothing like setting up loads of fireworks and it all goes perfect very satisfiying, definitely record it and post on here fireworks are wonderful things
  14. had my usual thing up one of are yards on the closest weekend to bonfire night. been saving this fire for a while now building it up. got a few fireworks and always have a good crack with some real nice people. along with orders for firewood every year from people who watch see the wood and buy some anyone else have a few beers and a fire and fireworks?
  15. Cheers fellas my colleque has found somewhere to buy a new motor 260 quid, id prefer a new winch but we will see if the new motor makes a difference
  16. are ramsey RE12000 winch on are landy has given up the ghost, took it to the auto electrics and it needs a whole new motor. we are tempted to just buy a whole new winch as this one isnt really powerful enough for the job, but obviously will be alot more costly buying a new winch. is there anywhere good we can get parts for ramsey winches?
  17. best of both worlds then no lifting heavy stuff and more profit
  18. Nice job, any reason why you didnt hiab the whole tree down with a hiab that size? Nice work though! Grinders looking cool
  19. I personally use 16mm and that works perfect but you can use what size you need for the job in hand.
  20. You wont regret getting one at all that is for sure, it will more than earn its price tag in a few big takedowns
  21. You get a fixed bollard aswell as the winch bollard for such occasions.
