  7. Firstly, happy new year, I hope people werent too busy on call outs over the break! I hope I manage to attach my pictures correctly, and wanted to know if anyone had seen this type of system before? looks like it might be homemade? thanks for your help.
  8. Thanks alot for the input everyone With regards to the contract: im contracted as the grounds maintenance gardener only, I do tree work for them but that is always charged separately.
  9. Hi All Im writing as I need some advice on pricing an emergency call out. I have a grounds maintenance contract for a site in west London. Its an apartment block. Last Saturday when the winds were still quite high I got a call at about 9pm from the manager saying that a tree had come down in the private road leading to the property, this was the only way in or out of the site as the cleaners had parked in front of the only other exit. They needed the tree cleared asap! If there was an emergency (fire/medical etc) that would be big trouble im sure you can appreciate! Luckily I haddnt had a beer at that time on a Sat night so I loaded up the car with my tree kit and headed down for aprox 10.30 on my own (there were other people on site, just not my regular guys) It was quite tough work and dangerous with the winds still blowing and working by the beams of the car for light! took me about 1.5 hrs to clear the road. Now I need to put an invoice in, does anyone have experience of pricing this sort of work? any advice would be really handy. Thanks in advance Hope everyone was safe in the winds! Gary
  10. Hi All, first post!! Happy new year. I wanted to ask if anyone works out near Stoke Poges close to Slough, ive got a job there in the next couple of weeks and my van and chipper are out of action so I need some help chipping up and clearing logs away. Its a 20/30% reduction on a med size oak and 20 odd pine rounds from some earlier work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Good to be part of what looks like a really friendly community! Cheers Gary
