  1. I've always just used a steel biner/tape sling as an anchor for light rigging, without friction device. Anything heavier needs a friction device. Keep it simple!
  2. You did well not to fall out the tree sideways! Good job mate, work on the computer skills though
  3. Todays job next to the beach, so we had a play with the frisbee we found in a hedge the other day. (we then threw it into the middle of a massive bramble bush, so no more frisbee )
  4. Hopefully the mk2 will be compatible with the wrench! I guess its not a high priority for them though.
  5. "A new version of the ZigZag is currently being developed and will be available in January 2014" Interesting.

  7. Expanding on what Andy said, I would get a t shirt printed up! That will surely lead to something - you never know who is stood behind you!
  8. Nice work!

  10. Wow - the size of that bloody chipper!!! (last pic)
  11. Well the Somerset coast/water isn't the best - they don't call it Weston super mud for no reason At least Cornwall/Devon/Dorset coasts are only 2 hrs away!
  12. Nice to see some pics from back home. I used to work at notcutts in wickham market many years ago. Re: most beautiful county - gotta be Somerset I'm afraid, and I have lived in rural Suffolk for 25 years. The old houses are the nicest in Suffolk though - I miss seeing thatched cottages everywhere!
  13. Huh? I don't get it. Oh and no need to shout.

  15. Don't waste your money. It will be no smoother for tending friction knots. It's only smoother if you have a load going round the pulley wheel. Go for the cheaper red one.
  16. VT with 3 or 4 wraps, 2 braids. Grabs well and runs through smoothly.
  17. 3ft dia Oak - might be good for milling?

Stay strong, Jose. Thoughts going out to your family.
  19. For some reason i remembered that video when this thread was started, but wasn't sure if you'd want me posting it so didn't bother.
  20. Yeh but the 268 is a 66cc machine, the 550xp is 50cc.... Can't really compare the two.
  21. Wrong thread, mate?
  22. Quite simply because 50cc saws haven't got quite enough power/torque to pull an 18" bar through bar length wood. Even 60cc isn't quite the ticket. For 18" i would go for 70cc minimum otherwise it gets tedious trying to get through large logs.
  23. Well there's that tree surgery forum, you know, arbchat or something like that....
