  1. I wouldn't bother reading any papers tbh. But the Daily Mail is particularly evil.
  2. Arbtalk - becoming more right wing every day! Great slogan for a t-shirt!
  3. I can't believe how right wing some of the people on this thread are! I suppose you all read the Daily Fail too. When i came into tree work I thought all tree surgeons were hippies at heart. Not sure that's the truth...
  4. Scrooge! I can imagine you sitting in your woods, cradling your little dolmar on glastonbury weekend, grumbling to yourself that you are having a much better time
  5. You don't get taught much in the basic nptc's. I didn't learn about leaving the hinge thicker on one side to guide a branch in a certain direction til a few months after college.
  6. Was working near Pilton today - not going to the festival though, got a spare ticket?
  7. haha nice one bless it.
  8. Mate, you almost invite people to have a go with your attitude. Every one of your replies is so over the top with it's indignation and cocky arrogance (or confidence as you like to put it).
  9. Oak is great for tear cutting. It's quite predictable and a great way to swing a branch back towards the stem.
  10. ahem.... 441 4.2bhp 461 4.4bhp 441 power/weight 1.6 461 1.5 461 is only 0.1kg heavier. 461 a clear winner
  11. Cool, make a 461 review thread once you've used it for a few weeks
  12. Yes, quite obviously fraudulent.
  13. Used to love singing that when i was a kid.
  14. Looking forward to it! Also, it's not bitching. If you post video's of work that isn't considered best practice, you've got to expect negative feedback. I honestly couldn't care less about how you work, as long as you, your staff and others around you are safe.
  15. I just cannot get to grips with people defending her by saying stuff like 'she had balls' 'she made decisions' 'she was honest'. Bloody hell, Hitler had balls, made decisions and was brutally honest about his views, doesn't make him a top bloke! (and before someone spouts off about me comparing the two, you know it's not a direct comparison, i'm just proving a point)
  16. 576xp or ms461 for climbing duties, 90cc+ is a bit overkill when both these saws can handle 25" bars easily. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the 461 yet, no one on arbtalk has given a review yet - does anyone have one?
  17. 'Best of a bad bunch' is the saying i believe.
  18. Yeh then he can return the favour by towing them to a garage when the landy breaks down
  19. This was thatcher's Britain
  20. haha - that last picture is great! black sausages here we come!
  21. drool....
  22. Poor but happy, I think.
  23. also i think i'd prefer the wheels as tracks tend to rip the sh* out of lawns!

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
