  1. Too late for that!
  2. Cheers, i'll give them a call. I've been meaning to go there anyway.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? The type you can clip to your harness and it packs down to around a foot... cheers
  4. 13.5 stone (i'm tall, hama, not fat lol) and use 3 - 3. it's fine in the dry, but the past week i have added another wrap as it kept slipping
  5. I love my Tree Motion, but i have to stop quite a bit to alter the leg straps when it pinches my never regions....I have tried lot's of different way of wearing it - Loose & tight leg loops, wearing the leg loops high & low, wearing the whole harness high & low, making sure my troos are pulled up etc. I don't think I need quite a technical harness but still, not a bog standard one. I'm 6'4" with quite big frame if that's something to take into consideration. The Skylotec and Treemagic look quite good, opinions? ps. sorry about another harness thread, i'm sure you're all sick of them!
  6. Caveman - I bet the turning circle is like a cruise liner with that wheelbase! Cool truck though

    Hollow Ash

About 80% of it had already failed - every remaining limb was in a similar state to the butt.

    Hollow Ash

I went up to get rid of some weight at the back of the tree before we felled it. It was a bit alarming looking down the trunk and seeing a bottomless pit!

    Hollow Ash

    one more....
  12. On the job sheet given to us by our boss, it said just to take the Ash down to good wood. I went up for an aerial inspection and realised that there may not be any 'good' wood.....
  13. Hope i won't confuse the matter even more....This is what i do when i'm not climbing trees (set up sound systems that is, not talk crap on here). firstly you need to look at the numbers together. 8 ohms impedence - this is the resistance. 400w PGM (program, or 'RMS') - this is the power. (ignore 'max' ratings) you will need an amp that is rated at least 400w rms per channel at 8 ohms. ideally, without going much into the details, you need to put around 1.5 times the rated power into the speaker - so, 600w rms @ 8 0hms into each speaker. underpowering the speaker will pose a greater risk than overpowering. now, looking at that amp on ebay. it states "2 x 400W max. at 8 ohms" which in real wattage is around 150-200w per channel. this will underpower your speakers by 50-75% and the power rating isn't everything - the sound quality will be pants - you certainly won't get deep bass, clear mids and sparkling high's from that chinese ebay thing. for around £100 you will be better off buying a good, second hand amp. something like this behringer amp would be good - this is a make that specializes in the lower end of the pro market. it has around 550w rms per channel at 8 ohms BEHRINGER EP2500 Power Amp. on eBay (end time 07-Feb-10 20:07:33 GMT) some other makes to look out for that will be within your price range are crest, carlsbro, qsc, matrix, peavey, ecler, old crown's, inter-m, c-audio, t-amp, warrior & yamaha plus the leads you will need.... a double phono to male xlr like this one to connect to a cd player ..... Cable - Double RCA Phono to XLR 3-Pin Male Lead (1.5M) on eBay (end time 12-Feb-10 22:17:26 GMT) a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to double male xlr, to connect to an ipod/mp3 player. like this... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HQ-3-5mm-Stereo-Jack-Plug-2-x-XLR-Male-3m-Length_W0QQitemZ200370790524QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL?hash=item2ea707a07c and finally, two speakon to speakon lead to connect the amp and speakers..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Neutrik-NL2FC-Speakon-Speaker-Cable-Lead-1m_W0QQitemZ320468151110QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL?hash=item4a9d63eb46 hope that's helped - let me know if you need any more help
  14. Very impressive! The net to catch that big concrete bloke must of been strong.
  15. A1 Tree Maintenance are looking for someone with 30/31 and Aerial Rescue. They are based in Woolpit. I think the number is 01359 241030. This isn't anytyhing to do with me - I just saw it on the .gov website and thought I'd let everyone know.
  16. now THIS looks fun! ....
  17. well done for passing - i did forestry work for a month after my college course and it taught me loads and improved my cuts no end. it's quite hard to find in some areas and not very well paid but well worth doing for a little while imo.
  18. nice one - now enjoy £1500/yr insurance for your 1.0L Nova
  19. cheers for the replies - i'll look into getting some enamel then.
  20. Might sound like a silly question but what is a good brand/type of paint for a chipper? Ours is looking quite abused...
  21. i'm glad things have moved on!
  22. I completely covered my strop and leg in oil the other day when i went to clip the saw onto my harness. As mentioned before - the oil cap is problem, the fuel cap is fine.
  23. The one in our container certainly doesn't!!!! January is a girl using a BG86 up her friends skirt
  24. same as most other replies - we have 3 020t's from around 97/98 - all run fine after years of being abused (all the outer casings are original) . i'm not convinced the 200t would last as well. saying that, i'd never in a million years pick up one of the 020's over my 2009 200t
