  1. Dismantled this HC today, (no shots of the tree, sorry), overhanging 3 yards, target rich drop zone, 2 cables in the tree. Everything down cleaned up and ready for wood removal by 3pm.
  2. There is only two of us on my crew. Pretty much every job we get here involves wires pools rooves, fences, have to rig everything. W aim to get all the brush done in a day, today for example, horse chestnut over 3 yards right on the corner surrounded by sensitive bushes, the get the wood out the next day. Big wood we get in a mini. But yeah, I remember one fat pin oak that including clean up was around 2 1/2 days. Every situation is different eh.

The humbolt v traditional notch has been discussed at length, I'm sure on arbtalk. I use it alot in the tree, when using the pushing chain, it's just easier and faster to position the saw for the next cut after the undercut. On the other hand I find it harder due to lack of practice to do a humbolt using pulling chain. Usually ending up with a Dutchman on the far side. It's all about practice like everything. Nice sweater Reg
  7. We use a hired vermeer. Great piece of kit. Would really benefit with a set of pallet forks for wood.
