  1. just put a flat layer in the bottom and then you can just throw'em in
  2. Hi, going off on a bit of a tangent, but can anyone tell me whether a tic would pick up a mole under my lawn. Its driving me mad and I have been thinking about this for quite a long time. If i could locate the little critter, I could blow his brains out:BoomSmilie_anim:
  3. put bag supplies into google you'll find them on their website
  4. Thats quite interesting. I have always left the bags full for collection next time and haven't lost any yet but yours is a good idea. Everyone always says the bags are much bigger than expected which is a good thing, but I never thought of tipping the logs out and bring them back home with me. Maybe something for me to thinnk about!
  5. No I live about 200 yards from him but my wood yard is not there
  6. We decided to try some Barrow Bags this year. Got them from Bag Supplies and got 50 of them and have delivered about 20. I find them a bit of a hassle out in the sticks as if you're not careful you can end up running around the countryside for a £20 bag of logs. I only deliver them if I am going to the requested area anyway (with a trailer load), or if the customer is prepared to pay extra for delivery, and its surprising how often they are happy to pay the delivery charge. How have others found using them, or has no-one bothered?
  7. if you go straight up, would you not just lose all the heat straight out of the chimley?
  8. if its in a good location give him the money, sell some thinnings and sit on it for a while. maybe worth a fortune one day
  9. u better go buy a euromillions ticket. sounds like your lucks in:thumbup1:
  10. does it not spit really bad tho Steve
  11. If you need any delivered out Bury way, I can help you out rather than you lose your customers for next year. you get the order, I deliver and take the cash and I just pretend I am your delivery driver. You keep your customers and I sell the last 65 tonnes of my nice dry seasoned ash/beech/sycamore firewood which i dont really want sitting round til next winter. Sounds a bit dodgy i'm sure but i'm an honest guy fella and don't like upsetting anyone. You have to help each other out in these hard times!!
  12. Hi, I am based near Swaffham and supply ash, beech, sycamore mix of seasoned hardwood cut and split 10" lengths all seasoned. What kind of volumes are you looking for? Give me a call on 07881 904100 for more info. Mike
  13. last time i had to de-ice a mog, i lit a small fire underneath it!!!!!
  14. Thats a good point Davetaz, coz whenever I level load my tipper it has 1.5m3 on but when I get to customer the logs at the back up against the tailgate have always settled or jostled forward and the back looks almost empty. I just spread a few from the front to make it look level again!
  15. I think Tilbrooks landscapes used to do a bit at CP Elveden but don't know who does it these days
  16. I havent met anyone off the forum yet but I'll second the rest of the above:thumbup:
  17. I think there is work out there for chainsaw felling guys who are prepared to travel and stay away, but that is the problem these days, no-one wants to stay away. I have always said I would not work away from home but in the last year I've had about 7 weeks away in a caravan, and I am certain there will be more of it to come. Yes, its crap living in a caravan away from your family, but if the work is there to be done, DO IT. If you don't someone else will and good work is scarce these days. Good luck Lee.
  18. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE:cheers:
  19. Hi, its a timberjack not a logset fella and no I don't. I drive for a company from Stamford

  20. Don't know what its like these days but I've had some brilliant new years eves at Cotton Trowel and Hammer pub. Thought you Stowmarket guys would have a get together somewhere round that way for new years eve but when some are working its not much fun for the others. Having a quiet evening with wife kids and a couple of friends. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY:thumbup:
