  1. Steve, I run my 1x37 on a john deere at 1000rpm on a 540 pto shaft. There is a lever in the cab to enable me to use it like that and when i engage the pto, i run the engine at approx 1150 revs and that gives me 540 pto speed. The fuel guage hardly ever moves. Samtheman, you are mad, but good luck and join the club:thumbup:
  2. where abouts in norfolk will it be and what species of wood and what sort of volumes are you thinking of fella
  3. Those pictures are fantastic. You must have a good camera or just a good eye for scenery spotting. The landscape looks great, might take the mrs and kids out that way for a wander one day.
  4. how much you charging for a load in that gensetsteve
  5. Steve, you could try apex belting in Bury st Edmunds but i think that price you've got is pretty good
  6. Hi Steve, I have an ad in the classifieds for a Blue line gp22 trailer but have now sold it. Can you tell me how to remove the ad or get someone to do it for me. Thanks.

  7. What a great piece that is. Couldn't agree more. You've got to sell by volume or at least by "approx" volume so that customers can make some sort of comparison. Then they only have to make a choice about the sellers quality of firewood, not a comparison about how much their gonna get tipped in the drive!
  8. I thought they looked in good condition, that explains it then. Think the Binderberger is about £28k. Too much imo, especially when both of the ones I saw working were no faster than my 1x37 and they both had welded up splitting knives and were under 6 months old
  9. Ever considered a repo binderburger 450 Look on the website of Kingston Asset Finance and click on the "for sale" tab. You will find one of these and also a repo Posch 3200 with log deck. Mind the rush everyone!
  10. Yep, you're right Ed. genset's trailer with the greedy boards is just over 2m3. Just been and re-measured my ifor which I assume is the same dimensions as TCD's (8x5). Its 1.46wide x 2.44 long x .37 high which works out to 1.31m3. Heap it up a bit and you will get 1.5m3 on it. Lucky old you if you can sell that size load as 2m3 but round our way we wouldn't be able to.
  11. Thats fine but the sides on my 8x5 ifor tipper like TCD's are not 1foot 10 high and they are only 1.46 wide. so its NOT 2m3
  12. My 8x5 ifor tipper loaded like that one is approx 1.5m3. Am surprised if you've got almost 2m3 on there fella.
  13. Got one in April from Kent in IMMACULATE condition for £4000. It is about five years old and works perfectly. Am really pleased with it but also think I got a bargain!
  14. have you considered extracting the stumps and brash and then getting in an air burner. Could all be burnt with very little mess or inconvenience. I think Paul Vidgen at Ascot tree services have one (but am not sure)
  15. Don't know anything bowt it. U'll have to give them a ring fella
  16. Advertised in this months Forestry Journal is a hakki pilke 1x37 processor. 5 years old good condition £4000+vat. located mid Wales. Call 01597 811160 evenings
  17. :thumbup:Yep, count me in for that one Steve. Ace idea. Mike
  18. One of the best splitters i have seen for splitting large logs was at the Elmia show this year. It was basically a screw splitter mounted on a 360 digger. You can see one on the cbi website (continental biomass industries) i think there's a link on to a youtube video. Very simple idea but not sure how much they are.
  19. i will but haven't taken any yet. Will try to get some up on here week after next.
  20. I made my own for my 1x37. its not hydraulic but will carry about 3m of timber and cost under £100. Just put a bit of a slope on it so its easy to roll the logs towards the infeed conveyor. No need for any hydraulics and takes all the backache out of the job:thumbup:
  21. Is anybody going to the Elmia forestry and arb show in Sweden his week?
  22. Hi Andy, was it you who asked me to keep an eye out for some firewood for you. I may have a job with some free wood but a bit of graft involved if you are interested.

    Cheers

    Mike

  23. Try giving this guy a call. Jason Cooper Tel: 07702 169932. He has a Dalen 17" processor and is advertising for contract processing nationwide.
  24. Are you able to tell me any more please yorkshireman?
  25. Hi, I used a mowi crane on a self propelled Hafo woodchipper for 2 1/2 years and it was brilliant, but I was only picking up lightweight brash and 1st thinnings pine. It was very fast and brilliant for repetative movements but was not very good if you needed to pick up anything with a bit of weight in it. I think the Botex would be a far better option and certainly stronger built. Nothing wrong with a mowi, but must be on the right application!
