1. Very high quality well maintained machines, work in Midlands and East Anglia. Call Martyn Neve 07860 859633
2. Oh I am sure the courts will deal with them good and propper. Prob give them £50 fine and 1 week suspended sentence and tell them to be a good boy in the future. CHOP THEIR BL**@Y HANDS OFF
3. Why bother cutting bars when the shavers are worth more for a lesser quality?
4. Speak to Dean Embling at Global about Bandit. Bit more pricey than some but you will wonder why you never did it before!!
5. No, you're all wrong. I've heard from a very reliable source that he will be called Jeff
6.
I hear you've had a little chat with Martyn today. Told you he wouldn't forget! :-)

7. Have to be honest Andy, I went the wife today and we were a little disappointed. If there were an extra 20 stands, we couldn't find them and both said we thought there were 1 or 2 less than last year. The outstanding item on show (in our opinion) was just inside the barn on the left as you go in, a "picture"/ carving in oak of a foetus inside the womb. Damned expensive (£250) but incredible. If I had £250 floating about I would go and get it without hesitation. Kids are incredibly well catered for and the food stands providing top quality nosh. It was great to see the car park full though and although it was busy, it wasn't too manic.
8. must have been stored outside then, coz there's fresh green moss on them!
9. IMO a purpose built harvester should be able to cut between 1100 and 1400 of these per day if it was all cut into 3.5 metre lengths. Lets cuts means more output, so if you are talking 20-25ft of usable timber from each tree just cut each tree into 2 pieces to speed the job up. There would then be about 7 - 8 days work for a harvester. You will have to speak to a contractor to get the rates for that. Then you have the forwarder to extract it unless you can do that yourself. Work out the costs and see if you can do it cheaper by hand.
10. The campervan thing is a really good idea and becoming quite popular. Heard of quite a few people doing that when we went 4 years ago coz it can work out alot cheaper than hotels. Just dont get drunk and fall asleep at the wheel coz you could lose your license.
11. Chris Rowlands from Wem 07515 396680 Tell him Mike from Even Forestry gave you his number
12. So sad. Stay strong Jose and dont be afraid to accept a bit of help from other arbtalkers if you need it, OR to cry on their shoulder if you want to. Thats what we're all here for, to help each other get by in all situations.
13. Try contacting the FCA, they may have some contacts. Failing that, how about talking to Komatsu Forest or Deere up in Carlisle. Gotta be worth a try.
14. I made one of these yesterday out of bone dry birch, it lit no problem but after about 8 or 9 minutes it kept going out but would re light if I blew into the slots. What am i doing wrong for it not to stay alight. I pushed the firelighter about 2" down from the top before lighting.
15. You are in control of the situation, not the developer. Tell them at least £120k per plot. Either they want it or they dont?
16. why not a terrain chipper? forwarder mounted chipper with its own crane and chip container. Which part of the country are you?
17. Dont do it, no, really, dont do it. I used to have a fastrac 185. Thought it was brilliant, and then I tried a mog on demo. Far superior bit of kit. Plastic fastrac doesnt lend itself to forestry work.
18. What a waste. Makes you want to become a timber fairy for a load of high quality, processor sized hardwood
19. £270.00 / load + 5 metres max Martyn Neve 07860 859633
20. Try giving John Fish at Treewood Harvesting a call. I was told last week that he has invested in quite a lot of them. Dont know if he hires them out but its worth a call. Think he's just off the M25. Treewood harvesting have a website
21.
Hi Steve, Can you tell me why some of my posts have been removed recently. I just added a post to the "Two hand cutters wanted" thread, and they have been removed but I dont understand why. It was not offensive or rude, just sticking up for the guy that put the thread up coz someone else had made a very derogatory comment about him. Totally confused
