  1. Personally, I don't think thats a good idea as I feel that firewood delivery methods should all be standardised so that the customers know what they are getting. Some people sell by the load or half load which can be in different sized trucks or trailers, some by the m3 and customers are not able to work out what kind of deal they are getting from one seller to another. Standardise it to £/m3 so that everyone is working on the same system and no-one is being misled. Thats just my thought on the matter, but every one is entitled to agree or disagree
  2. I know of someone with an ifor Williams 10x5 tipper for sale with mesh sides, don't think it's very old and he is looking for £2700 for it. Norfolk

  6. Thanks to everyone who posted on this subject, you have all put my mind at ease and I now feel a bit more confident than I did 48 hours ago. Wish they were doing it tomorrow, never felt pain like it today and the nurofen just didn't want to know. Happy Daze

  9. I have got ot go into hospital in July to have some cartilage removed from my knee by keyhole surgery. Has anyone else had this done, and how long were you off work afterwards? They tell me I will walk out of the hospital un-aided in the afternoon, but not too sure I believe that!
  10. Been processing today with hakki pilke 1x37 with home made log deck, and 2.3m cord from 70 up to 350mm diameter. Done 35m3 today on my own, but that was an exceptional day coz there was not many bits over 250mm. I would say an average 8 hr day would be about 25m3.
  11. What a really king gesture. If I was a climber I would offer but its not my thing unfortunately. Top man:thumbup:
  12. I went to Center Parcs at Nottingham last year with family, and did the climbing up poles course thingy beside the rope slide. Wife and kids all did it first, up about 30ft off the ground with harness on and dancing like a chicken on the horizontal telegraph pole. I got up there,(43 year old 6'3" 18 stone bloke) and froze. It took them nearly 20 minutes to get me down again, never been so scared in my life:blushing:
  13. Brilliant thanks. Everyday's a school day and now i know how its done. I still admire and respect you lot for doing it.
  14. Really admire you guys who climb up trees and cut bits off every day, I would s!!@t myself before I got 10 feet up off the ground, but what I want to know is how do you get the ropes up and over the branches to be enable yourselves to hang from them? Do you climb up a bit at a time without a harness and then throw the rope over and then climb a bit more? Please explain:confused1: Thanks Woodworm

  19. I have a beech hedge which is about 12 feet high which is fine and I will cut it back as and when, but the problem is that it is over 8 feet wide!. Is it ok to cut it back about 3 feet and if I do, will I end up with a really ugly looking hedge which won't green up on the side again? Any help greatly appreciated.
