    Man flu

Good stuff, plenty of water & echinacea tablets, with all the garlic you can inflict on those around you.
  2. :biggrin:NO IT WAS NOT,(and you can keep your head down too Mr Bollam)! best i go to bed before I offer you youngsters a challenge you cant win,but heres one to try NOW. ,can you get your foot behind your head,A can you punch break a light bulb without it swinging on its flex after. Have some respect for us olduns,we might be cantakerous, numb in the extremeties, half blind & incontinent when you least expect it,but we are still sensitive to the truth. Anyway, knowing what Spike is like I would have had it cut split & stacked for a good strong cuppa!
  3. Good on the old boy. 1. he aint worried about going for a bit of rough justice:thumbup1: 2' he obviously bullied you into giving him the wood:001_rolleyes: 3, ya liked the old boy for it:biggrin: I love old people like this, they dont give a damn for all the modern pc crap, they just get going in ther own old way. Nice post mate, bet you loved it:001_smile:
  4. Thats right about the hinge,it will be all but useless if the eucs wewll dead, work small & if you have to hinge out a piece thats a bit larger than you would want give the gob cut a wide face where it forms the hinge,( so the two gob cuts are not meeting at the hinge & you have to create a flat face of hinge between these two,cut into the sides of the hinge a touch to stop it from tearing down & opening up down the trunk ( making the hinge the week point),& back cut so its level with the top of the wide hinge face. all this aiming to cut the gob so it closes with the removed top near horizontal,it will tear the hinge if it holds that far,& you get time to chase it once the section is going the right way.
  5. Not had one go on my td5 in 3 or four years since I had it,only greased them a couple of times too:blushing: My 300 did knock out a couple in that time, but I used to wade the 300 frequently,(ford by my field). Thing is I wont wade the td5 as its always towing,& the tipping pump is mouted on the chassis. If your uj is warm through use & you wade it in nice muddy water, the cooling effect of the water on the uj,(& axles for that matter),will cause them to suck in water, this can be a reason for early failure.
  6. Thats a nice reduction,top work.
  7. Hi again Paul,I do get to work in the area sometimes,& have a tip site in hafield peverel,But if you want some chip if I'm in your area it could come in handy for me,what locations have you? I contract to the chelmer & navigation from time to time,& schools in chelmsford,on large works I can end up with more than I can get in a load back to my site,so let me know if interested. Geoff.
  8. I could do it one evening late next week,if someone else has pm ed you give them first shot at it,as I have plenty on & they may be glad of it.
  9. I could do it,depending where it is,if you want me to look at the job & give a price let me know on here,or by PM.
  10. very amusing All.
  11. Thats a lovely looking motor you have there Stumpgrinder, very nice!
  12. Had a work mate with those webbed toes,I got him a pair of flip flops for christmas, his face was a picture.
  13. I'm not familiar with this saw,but I cant see it being a problem to fabricate a new foam filter,if anything it would be better with it than without,(if it originaly had a pre-filter),as it would possibly run lean on the carburetion without the filter which is a situation best avoided as it can cause engine damage/failure. No doubt someone who is familiar with the saw will post soon enough, meanwhile, welcome to Arbtalk.
  14. Looking good Yeti,as sam says I would drop a 200 lump in it for the grunt & economy on fuel.
  15. Well your not on some parallel universe unless arbtalk is there too.. But I dread to think what the guy is going to get up to with the worn out wellies.
  16. Looking good,should make a nice vehicle.
  17. The reason there are so many after market parts is because there are a lot of old landy's out there, where as very few mogs,so no market for the parts. Yes the landy is basic, and thats a good thing for the owner as he can do most of the maintenance at home, saving on modern workshop rates. It is obvious you dont like the landy, your choice, but 'bits of cr*p' they are not,& a workhorse they most definately are,as many on here can testify. The technology advanced ones, not suitable for the back street mechanics are td5 onwards,& like so many other vehicles with an ecu & engine management they do require hooking up to a diagnostic computer if you have a problem with the engine, not the end of the world in a modern country, other than that the mechanics are as you say basic,& hence easy & cost effective to repair,& outside of a mog, nothing else over here will touch them as a 4wd working machine with good longevity.
  18. Great colour coordination with the rope & tee shirt! Enjoy your SJ.
  19. That looks a nice fresh truck Mike. Round here in Essex it seems a 4wd is a thing to aspire to as a status symbol, the ones that get me are those trucks with silly names on the sides, like 'raging bull',generaly driven by short pot bellied egg heads in football shirts, always puts a smile on my face.
  20. Great picks ,I love pic 9 with the background.
  21. Spud,I love it,its so good I might have to lay the saw up & just get it out now & then to improve my moods, its an ear bleeding rip snorting cutting machine,I let a good climbing mate use it on site for a tank full,( I never lend out a good saw in my absense),he was not aware that the saw was anything but a normal 200t,but on reflection would have swapped his for mine in an instant.
  22. I have spent two days sanding down, teak oiling then using my own mix of 20 year old beeswax mixed with linseed oil & turps to keep up with the 'look' on my chelsy tractor,& I'm not alowed anywhere inside of the M25 now, spoilsports these law makers... This was before I transformed the old girl into a wood grain lovely fill your boots machine.. I will post a pic of the iroco boarded beauty in its full glory after I have checked it out for the odd mud splash & got her looking her best landy arb tipper by geoff321, on Flickr
  23. Spud, had my 200t in some heavy eucs today,(the one you had 'on your bench'), & it was superb,& also very nice on the pick up of revs when doing a light crown lift on an ash,it is so responsive to the right finger,& seems to shut down faster when you come off it too.
  24. That's a warming post,& I concur.
  25. Will have a rummage.
