  1. Two identical trailers, one full of stones and one full of.........
  2. Was it hedge-grown or free-standing? 1&2 look like hedge-grown to me. I may be wrong, but it's not Hornbeam:biggrin: ( I hope)
  3. Agreed. Some complain that no matter which way you vote, you get politicians. No matter which way WE vote, we get these F***wits. Considering moving.
  4. I'd have said it's Ash. Does Chalara do that down the centre of the trunk?
  5. Yep, you should have had an e-mail from the Children's Trust too.
  6. I'd prefer the base not to be connected to the uprights. Or at least so that the layers of pallets on the bottom can be moved out so I can dust out under them. Otherwise it'll build up in there and block the underfloor airflow.
  7. Also from the way the tree has shattered on impact. Horse chestnut is a very brittle tree. Not good for climbing. But still good firewood in a stove, I certainly wouldn't turn this away.
  8. And presumably being mains powered, it has a high-temperature resistant flex and needs an electrical socket next to the fireplace. I'll stick to junkmail and sticks..........
  9. Was tempted yesterday, but grass was too wet. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  10. I once had a bit of Lilac with a streak like that. It faded (but burnt well:001_smile:)
  11. I have to ask,, what AGE was that pyracantha?
  12. Well done Steve! I'm in. I'll be further in after next payday. Oooerrr Missus!
  13. Is this close? https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&an=&tn=tree+risk+assessment&kn=&isbn= Doesn't look a great match TBH
  14. If it's freshly cut and hasn't coloured up yet, I'd guess Alder.
  15. Shame, I love the stuff. I'd have had it. Just a pity I'm in other side of the country.
  16. Brilliant. Looks like a panda on the Cizer!
  17. Looks more like an "experiment" to me. The new growth looks to be growing too upright for a weeping ash.
  18. I worked with his son a few years ago. Showing my age now..
  19. I have an Echo PB-24-LN leafblower. Very reliable, easy start. Nicely balanced. bit boring really......
  20. I have the Burg-Wächter one from Lidl? Aldi?. This is the only one I've had which doesn't eat batteries. I had another one from Lidl where I had to take the 9V battery out every time I put it away! I also cottoned on to not keeping the meter in my pocket (keeps it warm so the temperature compensation gets confused) and not testing a newly split cold log as soon as I've brought it into warm, humid house,
  21. Reminds me of the old emergency way to pull a car out of a ditch. Tow-rope doubled over between car and a tree or sommat, Then use a strong bit of timber to twist the two strands of the rope. Hand over hand to tighten the rope. And don't for gawd's sake let go of the timber
  22. I preferred the one about tyres!
