  1. Working on those council estates again Dean? lol
  2. Phenomenal tree, incredible pics of the internal structure too!
  3. Those trees are just awe inspiring to say the least. If i could get the pennies together, i would be over like a shot!
  4. actually......im not so sure- stevie has only just started getting into pubs:lol:
  5. Belated- but here it is:thumbup: :laola:
  6. In all seriousness, that IS a top set of pics Rhys. That doug looked fun! Top stuff.
  7. Awesome pics mate. That dougy looked pretty sketchy......
  8. The NPTC qualification is recognized internationally whereas the Lantra isnt I believe, which is useful, and if i understand correctly you are assessed by lantra during the course on 30/31, and will gain their cert of competence, and the training you receive also gives you the knowledge you need to pass an NPTC test.
  9. Just noticed the stain on the floor under the landy.....NOT GUILTY lol!!!
  10. :laugh1: Recently I finally got round to replacing the ply greedy boards with ali. It took me ages to find a second hand set of lorry sides to adapt with the correct 3" planking, as i didnt want new which would have looked a tad odd on top of the bottom half! I reckon it was worth the wait though.
  11. I have miled turkey oak....and someone bought it....
  12. Good point. Either way it demonstrates how easy it is to understand why the aerial rescue requirement is seen as such an ass.
  13. I know an instructor/ tree surgeon who told me that in 37 yers of the job he has has to perform one aerial rescue, and that was on a lad on a course that froze in the tree. He knows of no other immediate friends/ coleagues who have performed one.
  14. Really??? I now hate VOSA even more- they had my missus in her lorry 4 times last year, each time on pettier and pettier things which should have been picked up on the previous pull, and told her it was irrelevant how much over she was, the fine was £1000. Yet again they have proven themselves to be morons with no true grasp of the law.
  15. If its A1 then pretty much pay the asking price. They are up there with the best of them (bandit and vermeer), and VERY good quality, so expect to pay a premium. Its like Skyhuck said. You get what you pay for.
  16. Why bother. Chances are that even when you have jumped through all these hoops and given away £300 for something you could almost certainly do yourself for nothing, you will fill your chip box up and still be overloaded at 3.5 GVW. My defender is 2546kg with 3 saws, a days fuel, 2 ammo boxes of files and chains, climbing kit and about 1/4 tank of diesel, without me in it. I am fairly sure it would be about 4 tonne with me and groundy and full of chip with a lowering kit. So again- why bother- They do you for overloading whether 200 kg or 2000kg overweight. Just dont have a crash. Or go on ebay and buy a plate you can make yourself then plate it to whatever you want. After all the first thing they will look at in that respect is the plate under the bonnett.
  17. Like i say- for cabinetry its cool, just not structural or out doors.
