  1. I had the pleasure of Ian and his family's company this week on a couple of ocasions whilst they were down on holiday. They dropped in one evening and treated us to loads of beer/ flowers and a banquet takeaway, to which he wouldnt allow me to contribute:blushing: and they dropped in today to let Holly (Ians Daughter ) have another horse ride. I must say what a really nice family you are, and thanks very much too! See yous at the APF:thumbup: Oh yeah- the mower.....
  2. Same her- mines worn the stellite off nearly. GB bars i think- not sure now.
  3. I took my sawmill to a local show yesterday which i have attended for the last few years. This year it was held at the Royal Cornwall Showground for the first time. I set up a little ad-hoc display of some sawn wood, some climbing kit, the alaskan mill and 088 etc etc, and milled some yew, larch and elm on the bandsaw. The highlight of the day was being awarded this though....
  4. Once you have an 88 you will find you use it far more than you are expecting to. An 066 will run a 36 bar, or at a push a 295xp husky. Stihl do a 4' bar BTW. Its over £300. RobD can supply one for half that but not a stihl one if that bothers you.
  5. The only one i could find. Big ash- about34" across. I can see many faults!!

  8. Its the same with all natural materials.....they should be sold by volume not weight as water affects weight massively....
  9. I cant believe i am reading these comments. VOLUME WILL NOT CHANGE UNLESS FABRIC STRETCHES!!!!! This is really basic stuff guys, which you will have or should have learnt in physics lessons at your first school!!
  10. Here we go again... Mike- you not got much work on at the mo or something?
  11. Always by volume, and the only mistake you made was in trying the impossible- educating firewood customers!!
  12. I think that was well executed, and exactly what he planned would happen. I loved his last comment-'Thats my idea of a good time'
  13. Sorry to hear that mate. Thieving scum. Welcome to arbtalk though.
  14. Haha good answers guys. I wouldnt have any other 4x4 either.
  15. NIce truck, but not my cup of tea TBH- i like my gear to be a bit older.
  16. Dave- get a farmi new- they are pretty cheap, absolutely bombproof (basicaly a PTO vermeer) and with things the way they are at the mo, i suspect there are some good deals to be had....
  17. At least a shock is only about 14 quid! Are there any joys asociated with land rovers??? lol
  18. LOL- laning shmaning- get it scratched and dented itll look like a workhorse then!! heres my landy on the one foray into off roading....never again. I went with a bent trackrod, and it just got worse from therein. It ended up costing me about £700 in repairs to the front axle and new winch wire.... In the pic of it in the water, I draged muself further, and it went right over the bonnet, the track rod got bent further and jammed the wheels against the chassis wrecking cv joints and what have you:thumbdown: Annd on top of all that, it wasnt that exciting either!!
