  1. You need to change your thread title to 'free chip tip site in east london'. There are often guys on here needing places to tip in the capital.
  2. Check out this website- there are some monkey puzzle bits on it. This guy is awesome, and nearly had the burr that the eden project had. Gallery pictures
  3. KLovely timber. Milling quite a bit of that at the mo. Tops.
  4. Hi pete. The turners like the bit with the whorls in it- you know regularly up the trunk you have those rings (i assume where branches would start (theres probably a name for them) and they will take rings that are cylinders as it were. Planking-wise- it is beautiful timber. I have just done one to 1" thickness and will make it into a small floor.
  5. Yeah i assumed leccy board, but couldnt see when they would use such a thing over a climber? It must have been well over 100k when new. Its huuuuge!
  6. Just saws have just sent out some info on a hudson machine that has come out. It looks pretty good......16" capacity, hyd winch to load itself, towable 2, 4, or 6 way split with 25 ton ram. Should be able to see one at the APF.
  7. Where are you JD? Try the council small holdings scheme in your area if there is one.
  8. What on earth was that mog actually intended for? I cant think of why the original owner would need a vehicle that will go that high off road, as for on road there are any number of huge mewps out there . I though they used helicopters for checking stuff like pylons etc, and climbed them to work on them. Or am i being a bit slow? Surely it wasnt originally a forestry/ arb tool?
  9. Blimey- never knew that it was mineral.(obviously lol!)
  10. Good pics- even got a lunge in there!
  11. I believe that the stihl one is synth too, and is suitable for all machines I was led to understand.
  12. LOL- i have just noticed your thread- so congrats are in order, and get that lotto ticket!!
  13. I have one going spare. pm me a number and ill give you a bell.
  14. I pay 100 a week......for a house, barns, outbuildings and 35 acres.....
  15. Beech is a nightmare- everyone thinks its really boring, and everything wants to eat it whilst its drying. Ash has a million uses. Kitchen tables, framework for morris travellers, any decorative boards you care to think of (window ledges etc) hand tool handles etc etc
  16. Nah- this is cornwall you know- we dont do pics. It was the biggest show ever though..... sorry dave- couldnt resist:lol:
  17. Dont take me wrong Charlieh- I am not condoning what has been done AT ALL! I more have a problem with the way that peoples first port of call is the authorities not (in this case) the club, who probaby had no idea what they were doing was wrong. Second time round then STRAIGHT to the powers that be. Just read your other post- thats more what i reckon- inform them before hitting them i suppose is what i mean.

    Saw hire

Rob- what have you to do that requires such a saw....if you have a 20" bar you can cut 40" logs remember....Its slower, but is doable, and you can fell a stem of that size too! I only say this as i imagine it will be fairly hard to rent a saw such as you are after. I think most places that used to (jewsons, euro tool etc) have got rid of their big saws due to liability issues etc.
  19. Im with Mick on this one. Our over-readiness and overreliance on the powers that be and the use of legal bodies to sort out what is essentially a civil matter has led to the inception of the culture of blame, and the ease with which 11,500 laws can be passed into the stautes by the previous govt, a trend being healthily followed by this one too. This also ties in with such issues a the existence if VOSA etc in my book. We have become a nation of insular beings who are unwilling or unable to sort our own problems out without recourse to law, thus entrenching the police state towards which we are hurtling headlong.
  20. Cornish Guild of Smallhoders annual show. Used to be known as Pencarrow Show.
