  1. Short answer is yes. You will also need a card reader and programme as the digi card only stores data for 28 days then starts to overwrite.
  2. You'll just have to go for a new one Jake, you know you want to:thumbup:
  3. Nothing wrong with UC4 posts if they are genuine i.e. pine, kiln dried to 28% before treatment and they are a much better bet than Spruce or Fir. The problem with Chestnut is supply!!! Best post of all is Clipex steel posts, 30 year guarantee.
  4. Are you using UC4 or merchant mixed species? If it is UC4 you should be getting 15years but these have only been available for about 7 years.
  5. Why is timber dearer in Aberdeenshire? Pleanty of sawmills on your doorstep!!
  6. "C" grade so should be slightly cheeper
  7. Materials should be about £2.50/m for UC4 will be more for creo and probably about £2.50 for labour so about £5.00/m.
  8. Had one for a few years. Beast of a saw, used it on some very large trees but I ended up selling it as I just didn't see the need to have a saw that size.
  9. I've got one as well. Great little piece of kit:thumbup:
  10. Think the risk assessment was slightly wrong on that one!!

You'll have to have Jake's slippers warm for him comming home. It's baltic out:thumbdown:
  13. I know you would but there is a line which is just not worth crossing!!!
  14. Nowhere near expensive enough Jake!! You just wouldn't go there:thumbdown:
  15. Perhaps not highly skilled but there definately is a technique. Anyone can stick a trap in the ground and perhaps have some degree of success but there are professionals who are skilled at what they do and are good at it. Don't under estimate the humble mole.
  16. Hi Tom, Scottish Woodlands might be a good start.
  17. Have you tried QTS,right on your doorstep. I know they have loads of their own equipment but you never know!!
  18. DARVEL perhaps
  19. Jake, spend some of your vast fortune and get one like Pentland. Then you can pay me a fortune to operate it for you.
  20. I recently bought a Triumph Rocket with a supercharger which must be one of the most insane combinations ever in terms of a motorcycle. Will post picks when I get home from hols.
  21. Go for it!! I retrained at 38 and had 10 great years running my own Arb company. I was lucky, as when I was training I met a guy who was looking for someone to help with a contract he had at London Zoo where I gained a lot of experience. You'll never know if you don't try.
  22. Looks like Frontier Forestry. Not sure if any of their boys are Arbtalkers but good professional company.
  23. Unimog or helpcopter as they have past connections with both!!
  24. Give ARR Craib a call, they work through Palletline but we get great rates from them, cheaper than anyone else I can find. 01236 794560.

Jake is dreaming of having all the timber processed and a shed full of logs
