  1. i was unfortunate to have had one of my work truck written off about 5 months ago by a guy reversin into the drivers side of my Mazda B2500 , i called Accident Exchange and the promptly dropped me down a replacment vehicle and collected mine ! Three months later i hear back from them telling me that the third parties insurers were picking it up so that their enginer could inspect it !!! another month later i get a cal from Accident Exchange telling me that the truck has been writen off and that the third parties insurers are offering £2000 or £1600 pluss the truck back , i was clearly not hoppy with this as i can not replace the truck for what they are offering so i explained this to Accident Exchange and asked them to go back to the third party Insurer to explain this and ask them to review the settlement figure . Yet another month later i get a call (today) from Accident Exchange and they tell me that the third party insurer will not review the offer nor will they give me the 2k and truck back , i have explained that i can not replace the vehicle for what they are offering me.I know htat the truck is S reg and probably not worth alot but i cant replace it for what they offer and it has a greater value within the company . so i just thought i would ask you guys for some advice and see if you have any advice on dealing with such an issue .
  2. funnily enough i had something similar just recently !! i had a call from a chap who asked if i could have a look at some trees in the garden or a house he has just inherited so i agreed a time and date the suited him , on the day i turned up to the address and was shown the trees which were set at the bottom of a massive garden and no acess to get any kit near to the trees at all . Any way i quoted had a further look at the job which was to take down 4 Cupressus Macrocarpa's which was going to be a pretty big and expensive job so i asked the chap which address he woud like me to send the quotation too at which point he looked at me told me that he was not going to pay for the job and that i would make more than enough money out of selling the timber to a saw mill or for logs !!!! what makes it even worse is that the property is located in one of the most expensive areas down here and the house is probably worth over half a million ! Infact i could not afford to buy the summer house in the garden without a big Mortgage .
  3. what sort of size machine are you looking for John ??
  4. try giving Planskape southwest a call , they buy alot in and are based in plymouth , funnily enough i was in plymouth working for timber cutter dartmoor today and what lovely weather it was ,
  5. hiya i know it may sound silly but have you tried speaking to bruce at totall tree care ?? if you aint heard of him before he runns a tree surgery agency and from what im told he is busy all year round , sadly i dont have a number for him but im sure someone on here will have it . any way hope this helps , oh and it may be worth giving High Line down in exeter a call as i knoe they are expanding throughout southwales and bristol . anyway hope this helps mate
  6. hmmm , strange how he turns up right by micks wattering hole , not to worry mate the truth always comes out in the wash . any how what was you up to in Marazion ?

  7. so true steve , we were lucky to get the mog back to the yard as we were loosing air like mad and trying to get down the biggest hill in the area without using breaks or exaust damper was a bit hairy lol anyway its all sorted now and the drive tomorrow will cheer me up .
  8. looks like a great job and carried out really well , well done mate who did you use for the crane ???
  9. thanks tommer , it did cost me a grand to sort the problem and then while its been off the road its not been earning either . but hey thats life . how was your day off ??
  10. well guys i must say a big thanks to you all for all your advice and help , and a big thanks to rob who is one of my groundsmen and does also has a good knowlege of agricultural equipment and maintainence , after several hours with the workshop compressor , stripping down the main distribution valve which was full of crap , then the blow off valve and finally we replaced the main airline from the compresor to the blow of valve which was leaking small amounts of air from several areas due to the pipe heating up majorly when the compressor was on its way out . so now the mog is building air up to roughly 18.5 bar and then the blow off valve kicks in , during the last 2 days and stripping the air system down we have managed to cure a couple airleaks as well . now i see what the likes of Steven Blair , Sky Huck and the rest of you mog owners meant when you said about the ammount of work neded to keep them on the road . and after all this i can safely say its no longer a 6 ton lump of scrap its a mog again lol
  11. any news on the skylotec justin ????
  12. talking of pedastools maybe you need to climb down off of yours , im glad you both passed and do not take anything away from either of you . i was simply stating that there are too many guys pass their 38/39 and strait away want a pay rise , i can happily sent 2 teams of two out and satasfy hse , at nopoint did i say that the course was easy or make a mockery of you passing it , as for what you have heard about me it does just go to show how easily you can listen to a crock of crap . if you would like to meet for a chat and clarify any of the above i would be happy to do so and i do not mean that in a nasty way what so ever . In simple terms well done for passing your 38&38 , i know the test has becom alot harder than when i did it at merrist wood back in 2003 .
  13. this is what really gets my back up , you dont pass your cs38,39 and get a pay rise , you learn to work efficently and gradualy start working at industry pace , i have had the same with guys fresh out of college that think they know what they are doing, and without sounding arsey i really dont think that a fellow new climber is in any possition to comment on weather a fellow newby climber deservs a pay rise !
  14. twas down at the end of the M5 near the slip road to the A30 , looked identicle , the job was at night to crane some trees off of the bank , i was tempted to turn round and see if i could have a climb lol
  15. Hiya were you guys working on the M5 about 6 weeks ago ?? im sure i saw that mog as a brove past
  16. i will have a look at the pressure relief valve tomorrow morning and see what happens , will also charge the system from the workshop compressor . your most certainlyu right about there not being much room and having to take several thing off to get to what you need to fix , like an injector pip as we found out today lol .
  17. sorry steve did you say 50k lmao
  18. thanks steve , we ahve got air comming to the main distribution valve beside the rear nearsid mug guard , and air in one side of the valve but thats it , the wiared bit is that the system does not pressurise enough for the blow of valve to work , to be honest ater having the mog for less than one month and already having spent a grand on it im really thinking of taking it back unless i can get it sorted tomorrow
  19. Evening chaps , have only now got in from work after fitting the brand new air compressor and guess what ???????????????????? The bloody thing still is not building air and the blow off valve is not blowing off at all which leads me to thing that there is a major air leek somewhere but we csn not find it at all , the wierd thing is that only one air tank is filling with air very verry clowly(1BAR in 20 mins) so after spending a grand and several many hours the fecking thing still aint moving , at this rate the only way i will be moving it is on a low loader back to a man in guildford !!!!!!! any way guys i would be really really greatfull of any advice you may have . Regards Dave
  20. pull your tongue out of his arse you great puff lol
  21. In all fairnes some of us do sell a good chipper , i sold my TW190 , it was just over 2 years and done 600 hours , before i sold the machine i had the rotor bearings changed . I think the problem is some of the people selling chippers and honesty , If i was looking at a chipper and thought i may have to change the engine no matter what the price was i would be leaving it there , if a major component like the engine needrs replacing it does not say alot for the rest of the chipper really
  22. the only problem that i know of with the 125 is with the rocker bolts , if the machine has not been well looked after or poorly maintained then the thread to locate the rocker bolts can be stripped which will require helly coils , other than that i do not know what it could be that he needs to get in from the states , timberwolf hold every part for all of their chippers on the shelf . if i were you i would be staying well clear of it
  23. if you dont wanna go to the police you could always invite 2 or 3 of your mates roung to your place one afternoon and give him a shout to quote for some plastering , once he is in your house beat the life out of him good and propper then T bag his missus ha ha
  24. a new Skylotec harness that must be ready for sale by now !! i could do with a new tachyon rope keeping back if you wouldnt mind justin oh and a grey kask helmet
  25. well done mate i would have had to give her a good dry slap and then the huby would of had the steel rake handle or grain shovel round the back of the head . anyway im real sory to hear about what you went through mate and realy hope you get your own back BIGTIME
