  1. i have not been climbing anywhere near as long as skyhuck but i have never washed any of my climbing kit , the most my rope has seen is a rope brush and a bath of cold water . if you dont want your kit so smell musty etc hang it out to air over the weekends if you can of on the washing line at home for a day !!!!!
  2. lol tell me more , what is you oppinion on it so far ?? i have the originonal at the moment but im thinking of getting the new one when it finally goes on sale lol
  3. well said dean , i know that lock jacks are relativly new and many climbers are not keen on them, when i first tried it out at first i was not that keen on it but after using it a bit more a soon realised just how much better i found it and how much more productive my time was when climbing . in my oppinio0n its a great bit of kit and worth the £180 i paid
  4. i spent most of today reducing a beech tree in the rain , i tend to use one end of my rope and a long strop . as the guys above have said take it slow and use redirects , also i bought some rock climbing webbing ring -strops of various lengths i use them to choker off round branches to put my feet in to climb out or you can add a revolver carab to it and use them like a re-direct , also tif you can get away with it just use a silky if you not cuttin anything too big off ! beats carrying an MS200 round a slipery tree in the rain any way good luck out in the industry
  5. i know a company in devon with one of them , really nice macine - not such a nice price tag lol
  6. i have spent today using my lock jack sport swivel and art friction saver and highly rate it , i have also been trying out the pantin foot ascended and hand ascender with it ond got on really well . i tried the hitcher but didnt feel it was as good as the lock jack BUT THAT IS ONLY ME PERSONAL OPPINION LOL

  8. hiya guys im looking at selling my 7.5 ton ex bt lift platform to get soething with a bit more reach and maybe a bit smaller , and was wondering what you guys are using , my current mewp has a reach of 15 meters and an out reach of 6-7 meters when 7 meters up , i find its ok for powerline work but still very restricting

  10. well said steve , i picture can tell a thousand stories sometimes it is easy to jump to a conclusion , im not saying thtas the case in this thread but just goes to show how easy it can be to get the wrong idea !!

  22. hi steve a couple questions for you -

1 could you change my user name from combined tree seres to combined tree services please . and secondly is there any way that you could set up a catalogue of common fungy with pictures of fruiting boddies with the option that we could all add to it ??? just a thought not sure if its possible tho . and way hope your keeping well and the british wet summer aint getting to you too much lol

    all the best Dave

  23. i will get some from the ground and try to mark the areas of decay , thanks for responding mister tee:001_smile:
  24. well im two years into it then lol only 8 more to go , nice job on your mog by the way
  25. i have seen the same fungi on an old poor pruning cut roughly 12-15 foot up ! the tree appears to be in good condition at face value but when i climbed the tree i found several deep pockets of decay within the lower crown where the main scaffolds of the tree form , one of the pockets of decay extends down into the scaffold union by roughly 18 inches , so i feel a 20% reduction is in order , what are your thoughts ??
