  3. not at all mate , just looking to make some changes to the way we are currently working
  4. Hi guys , as it says on the tin i have a timberwolf TW190 for sale , 534 hours on the clock has been well serviced and looked after well , as with any chipper there are a couple scratches etc but nothing serious , recent new reed roler bushes and full service . im open to sensible offers please PM me if you have any questions etc Regards Dave
  5. ha ha . wouldnt you ?
  6. dont get me wrong im not saying we should all follow the rule book to the letter ! we would never get any work done , think of it this way - would any of you take on a climber without his cs38,39?? would you be willing to let him do the job even though he is not certified knowing that if it goes wrong then the consequences are severe and could end your busines ? im only putting the other side accros please do not think im a rule spouting jobsworth prat . i personally feel that there is far too much red tape in areas of this job too !!
  7. yeah i agree , there are alot of companys that dont feel it nessesary to qualify staff to do the job properly !!
  8. nice one dave , looks totally difrent to my 190 . looks quite simple to do tho
  9. can you post it on here david , would be good to see !!!
  10. try taking some of the feed roler blades off , i had something like this happen with my tw190 , i found the only way to ret the spline adoptor out was to remove half of the feed roler blades , shame you dont have any pictures mate
  11. hiya wrw have you any pictures ?? how old is the chipper ?? if your stuck look through the members list for one called timberwolf and ask them as its a timberwolf tec , they will not get it till tomorrow but will give you the right info , but untill them im happy to try and help
  12. can a send my 51 plate ldv up to you that i have just bought mate ha ha i have a good old steel tipping body that im going to change when i get time , but i must say your truck is looking sweet mate
  13. The information board is again a requirment under the street works act . i think that may be the answer tho if you want to advertise whilst using TM make your own info board up making sure that id does comply . as for trade signs , down here in cornwall the council are now taking down any un lawfull signs causing a distraction to traffic this includes all forms of signs , vwhicles for sale etc etc . but i will say that it is all going to far now !!!
  14. nope road signs are meant for the road not the kerb according to the street works book the only signs permited on the pavement are foot path closed signs etc . the sign should be placed on the roadside with a cone on carrage way side of the sign . how many of you put out a safty cordon i:e a length of rope or barrier tape around the road cones to stop anyone entering the live carrage way ???
  15. unless the legend ( the space where tree cutting , enn etc etc goes ) is in the street works book then i would not do it .
  16. i was 22 when i got my mazda and was only paying £495 a year , give trust a call and ask for cammeron im sure he will sort you a decent price out
  17. im really not tryng to be funny but i really hope that your above statement works for you and does not end in an accident because with a proabition oreder over you the mortgage wont get paid , your guys may well be able to put out the Tm correctly or as close to it as poss but there are lots of bad drivers and oppertunists , i know of a company that had to pay just over 8k in compo because one leg of a road sign was on the pavement and a pedestrian had a little "trip" the job in question was worth less than £400 . but i can see where you are coming from Dean
  18. i worked for a company a few years ago and had the joy of plot maintinence which involved taking tree guards off of trees , rther than try to re use them they siply chiped them and sent them to land fill !!!
  19. i cant wait to see what you produce pete , i used the mill once for about an hour and that was about it , tbh i didnt know and still dont know anything about miling ! however i may well have a chat with tommer and see if he has any milling to do one week end and see if he wants some free labour lol . i would love to see how its done
  20. i saw a chap doing some tree cutting the other day with his mate in a pair of short and t shirt stood in the middle of the west bound lane waving a white bit of cloth in one hand and pulling on a bit of old rope in the other trying to get pull over a leylandi towards the main A30 into penzance . not a tree cutting sign to be seen anywhere
  21. you are best off marking your signs by ainting the frame of the sign or marking the back . there are specific sizes that road signs must be and only certain legends such as "tree cutting" or "hedge trimming" etc are allowed to be displayed as part if the sign .
  22. how long ago did oyu take them andy ? have you ever sat a refresher ?? i took mine 18 months ago and will be siting a refresher within the next 6 months altho i think you need to sit a refresher every 3 years , but that is only a guess . i can have a look at work tomorrow if you like and let you know
  23. sorry i thought that the question was regarding to the suspension liftin due to there bein less weight over the rear leaf springs , but as tommer says yes the bed of the tipper will be higher than what is origionaly fitted to the hi lux
  24. also there is now a new revised edition to street works as from jan this year if i remember correctly , but as and has said it really is plain and simple , my example above is probably a bit further on as we were working on a motorway
  25. verry true , i felt the same untill i had to do both courses, should the road sign be half on the pavement if the carrage way is narrow ?? what is the minimun lead in taper ?? what is the minimum sideways saftey clearence , what size cones and signs are to be used on which speed limmit road etc etc there is much much more to TM than placing a few signs and coes out as im sure you know i still have to refer to the manual from time to time . but trust me if there were a traffic acident they will leave no stone un turned . i was on a job on the M5 working in the central reservation with a crash cushion and 4 sign boards behid us for protection when a loory driver lost concentration and plowed into a small car in lane one resulting in a fatality . we were not allowed to leave site and it felt like we were all suspects.
