  1. Pushrods are usually dirt cheap and are generally the only things damaged when things go bad, like a transit 2.5di for instance, if the timing belt does go worst ways a full set of push rods is about £50, they're hollow so bend saving the rest of the valve train. Dunno where or how much for your chipper though unfortunatley, you could have a go at straightening them?
  2. I mean its raosnable in comparisson to the other toll roads i mentioned, even though it is considerably shorter. Them going on charging tolls after they said they would is not, one of my friends moans every time we go through there or are stuck in traffic caused by it:laugh1:
  3. a few sheets of 1.2mm or 0.8mm steel or chequer plate depending on budget, some rivets and about 7m of box section steel should do it. google sheet metal suppliers.
  4. I get a high pitched rining sort of noise occasionally when its quiet...and only 23! bad times!
  5. If they're van derived, as most tippers are they're vans imo. If you have a full size pick up its truck:001_tt2:
  6. Dartfords only £1.80 for a van, and free at night unless its gone up very recently. £1.80 pretty fair to be honest when considering the severn birdge at £10.50 or something and the M6 toll road...Specially when you think your lost due to the stupid staff and drive all the way up it and back down it in 1 night grrrr!
  7. Sweet! I'll be adding to the traffic 'discussing' this with the kiosk staff next time i go over the dartford crossing
  8. Just discovered th eotterbox through this thread ordered one earlier. Makes th eIphone 4 the clear winner i reckon, my replacement one will be going straight into an otterbox defender should keep it safe! Has anyone onhere broken a phone in an otterbox?
  9. Its abrgain 'cos its alndy and people cna and do pay crazy money for them. Anything else and it'd be half that price. These 200 engines can't be that great if they need rebuilding at only around 200k surely ? I've run sprinters with 100k more than that and they still pulled hard on the original engine.
  10. ... hehe, lashers, equipment abusers? Still, I like the standard body tipping idea, i'll have to look into that for my Dodge.
  11. land rover 110 defender 200 tdi hi capacity tipper T&T on eBay (end time 18-Mar-11 09:40:12 GMT) just spotted this on ebay, mad price!! I'd deffinatley be having a look if i didn't already have 3 trucks:laugh1:

    New truck

slightly newer one, if it s 6.9, is that a 3500? twin wheels on the rear axle?
  15. Yeah, don't touch it
  16. Not a great decision but hardly the end of the world, when i'm using a chainsaw track building or something whilst hopping in and out of a digger theres no PPE involved other than boots, unless its winter when i'll be wearing type C's anyway just to keep warm. but him being a bit grumpy about it seems a bit harsh as your clearly talking sense.

    New truck

2200kg front axle 2790kg rear axle, but i think thats form America...although its not in lbs which is odd. Train weight 7490kg!!!
  18. If you have that much to move go bigger 10t or so good balance of cost and bulking power. Diesel in the bucket will help and or a riddle bucket, usually used for cleaning hardcore but the grid pattern should aid losing the clay , but a good shake as you unload each scoop usually does it, or gently use a nearby fence post or similar
  19. ...not if you want more work from the company in question, always a tricky situation. But this thread shows, ironically, that there is little value in having an aeriel rescue qualified groundy.

    New truck

no, its 2.5t empty! but i'm ot concerned about running at 4t as it'll never look well loaded or be hanging about so imo barely any risk of getting aught, no worse than a Daily at 3t empty haha . that sa nice tipper but i reckon i'll be making one myself, or buying one off a transit or similar being broken then moddifyingthe back of my chasis slightly. It does get a hell of a lot of looks everywhere, good fun need to hurry up and get some sign writing on there!

    New truck

It is 3.5t but looks empty spring wise with that on it, and has train weight of just shy of 7.5t . Thanks for the tip mike, will check it out, although this hdoesnt have the mini suicide doors as it's a club cab rather than quad cab, sliding window at the back is another weak point, but easy to sort that:001_smile:

no drugs, just firewood, honest. 132L tank:lol: Just done first few days work about 12 miles motorway and 20 rural/town each way today and she averaged 21MPG, 1 MPG better than my transit! and by rural i mean real dicy lanes stopping every few miles to give way etc, should be good for mid twenties + on long hauls. Pulls amazing a load genuinley makes no difference at all, just burbles along the same at 1200rpm not straining at all. The bed is massive, it looks good as it is imo but i may consider putting a tipper on it in future.

Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel, 8ft+ bed Awesome machine pulls same loaded or unloaded, pretty much same capacity as transit tipper, better on fuel, SO comfy and sounds great!
  24. Spot on:thumbup1:
