  1. Yeah, I've read that a few times now by the end it seems like its just the saw breaking in, I think i'll orde rone from jonsie tommorow..hopefully i'll get a few more post sinhere first though. the 201t is also cheaper than than the 200 only by about a pound though.
  2. please sned me a pm with your day rate for climbing with kit and saw. Thanks, Bill
  3. I know theres quite a few threads onhere about the new 201t, but they're all a mix of speculation and the odd opinion, not much inthe way of hard facts. My saws just broken again and ithink its time for it to take a back seat and a shiny new one to go into action every day. So I'd liek to hear from those of you who have the new 201t how are they working out and if you had your chance again would you till get the 201, or would you have just bought another 200? Thanks.
  4. 360 13t+ with a few nice attacthments, flail, brush cutter or mulcher attachments, a rake or just toothed bucket and a thumb, or grab and rotator if you want to get really simple.
  5. Sounds like you need some big kit hired in. Then you could have it all cut n stacked in a couple of days and most likely be cheaper than 2 men + kit and travel for 2 weeks. it would also make it easier to sellt he wood as you could move and load it in decent quantities and lengths.
  6. just use a full size spark plug from a bike or car, simple.
  7. reduced 8 small London planes today right on Thames, not too bad, just got to pace yourself, climbing 8 different tree's sucked though!
  8. I know that, and thats why in my post i wrote approximate time of finish, not exact.
  9. So, without knowing an approximate time of finish how are your employees meant to get on with their life soutside of work making plans for the afternoon/evening etc. How would you like it if positions were reversed, getting home to dinne rinthe dog and a moody missus...Not much i'd imagine.
  10. B+E and class C HGV anything climbing related wont have muc value without prior experience, and experience is the key, do whatever is needed to get some.
  11. Steve could you post a pic of your truck from the side please, I;d liek to see the clearance of the body from the cab. Thanks.
  12. ok well, no difference a little common sense doesn't adjust for automaticaly. It would be rediculous to drive fast and stop short in freighted up vehicles wether they be 3.5t or 30+. My point is its essentially the same, however i must reluctantly agree that it makes sense to have another test for trailers as it takes a bit of practice to learn to back them up right...but i;d still rather they let people try their luck as reversing is rarely done in places where it puts many people at risk.
  13. Well, they're already there so they may as well carry on, theres not much in it between a 7.5t truck and a LWB Sprinter or similar, just abit wider...weight makes very little difference. I'm just annoyed i am gonna ahev to fork out to move any major weight:thumbdown:
  14. Go for it, I do a bit between my own jobs to keep the cash flow going, and always end up doing a few days then they want me at least a few days most weeks, which can get a bit tricky. If you can get in with a few companies and impress then you should have no worries keeping busy.
  15. Did you take this any further. I want a quite fo rocnverting my current bed to tip dodge ram 2500 club cab, 8ftft bed.
  16. I see it as saying they may as well carried on as theres loads of numpties allowed to drive hgv's who have no idea...our mothers. and plenty who do have a good head on their shoulders who aren't allowed to, so drive around in chronically overloaded 3.5 tonners and pull trailers they're not allowed ot hoping no one will notice...which they usually don't but thats not the point.
  17. All diesel hate air, eliminate it fromt he system as much as possible when changing filters and pipes etc by priming everyything either by using the hopefully inbuilt manual pump or simply sucking on the component until the diesel comes through then attaching it to the fuel pump ro next part of the chain. usually putting on a full filter and just starting the engine is quite a simple operation it'll misfire and knock and vibrate a little then after a minute or two the few air bubbles iwllpass through and all will be good again....again goes for all diesel engines. Be extra careful witht he little kybota ones in Chippers, mini diggers and MEWP's they are an absolute nightmare to bleed.
  18. Just fill the filter with diesel before you fit it, then start it, self bleeding or not its just wrong to turn an engine over on an empty filter.
  19. Oh, yes. I will only be going half way with the roof at most, I'm thinking i might go with 1/3rd to 1//2 length ally bolted onto the folded edges with 4 bolts and wing nuts underneath fopr easy removal, as th eally will also at as aldder rack, abit like my ***** bit of ply does at the moment with 2 brackets bolted on.
  20. interesting, why does that happen, was the tarp loose?
  21. Clearly. However, I'm assuming he just wants the bags to make it sit level with tons in the back whilst still being plated 3.5t to avoid the vehicle attracting un wanted attention.
  22. I'm In Kent, thanks for all the replies. i'm not 100% decide donthsis tyle yet, what do you guys think are the benefits over a flat roof? I just realised without a flat roof section i'm not going to have anywhere to put my ladder which could be abit annoying...
  23. Maybe, like me, he doesn't have the right license..so he'd need C and then C+E simply to drive a slightly larger truck and tow the same chipper...which annoyingly is no different to driving a 3.5tonner and a chipper:thumbdown:
