  1. If in doubt smash it out!
  2. I think when you go replacing crucial elements on a harness you are asking for trouble.Rigging plates and steel connectors sound bad.I don't really see what your trying to achieve with this setup, looks bulky and very unconventional.Yes i know everyone has their preference for different setup's but you have said you don't have much experience climbing and with that you should be keeping it basic as possible and once you have gained some experience seen other people setup's then you can start building something from experience. This setup that you have will not be functional in everyday tree work, maybe just for access fine, but moving about in tight crotches, ivy and epi growth i think you will struggle.
  3. Weight saving or money making exercise!
  4. My wife and daughter went a couple of yrs ago and said it was amazing,i managed a day there as well, did help Mark Todd winning!
  5. If your relatively new to climbing would it be best not to start on a friction hitch to build your strength and gain more experience rather then this setup you use now? Like Worcswuss Said you almost have a srt setup there? Don't take what im saying the wrong way just trying to help.
  6. Agree, i haven't seen this device in person but looked at a ton of pics and info on it and it doesn't seem very fit for arb purpose, ive never seen anyone on one in my time, looks like it would be good for rope access work though. Be good to see some pictures of your setup Drsteeve im intrigued?.
  7. Is a petzl id not just for decent?I had a zigzag and now back to a hitch climber all just run off one biner secured to a ring on the sequoia?
  8. We have storage heaters, they were brand new when installed and never go over 90quid a month,God knows how you managed that in 3 weeks?
  9. Yeah im in the same boat,i think they have looked at some different sites at prices can be very different depending on who you go through,What i wanted only came up to about £130 and i know i can get it cheaper from other places,so think ill just get the refund as well and buy cheaper!
  10. I live in Anstruther,Fife and had a job in Dunkeld/Perthshire last week and was driving 160mile round trip about 3hours in total.Wouldn't want to do much more then that. Unless it was a big contract and it was possible to stay away.
  11. Just rang Lyon equipment and all the relevant info for retrieval of zz and info on credit or refund is in the pack.If people want it done quickly then i would advise ringing Lyon direct and providing postage details.
  12. Im thinking about the extra 30 percent as well, takes it up to about the 200quid mark, thinking about bit of srt gear.
  13. Have some spare days if anyone needs a hand climbing or ground work,im based in Fife but will travel, rates negotiable. Paul 07727232252
  14. Coming into and out of summer i enjoy, easy to get out of the van and get up a tree when the weathers nice and it's not to warm which obviously means more productivity.Winter is not very nice, cold wet etc..harder to get access to a lot of places for work when it's wet and grounds soft, and motivation for me is hard to get when it's like that
  15. .....

  20. WARNING IMPORTANT! ACCIDENT WITH ZIGZAG!! Today 15:22 am by HOLGER I just received the message that a crash related to the PETZL ZIGZAG has occurred! Thomas Bohl, head of the FSB Oerrel was a few hours ago called directly from the victim ... so it's not a rumor! The climber, an employee of the city of Celle with its brand new ZIGZAG crashed from 5 meters because the TOP GOLDEN attachment loop is broken ... so free fall! The climbers it goes under the circumstances .... seriously injured but he is not sure in medical treatment. Is exactly clear up the situation, one should refrain from using the device ... that also please give out to all the users of which you know that they use the best ZIGZAG ... immediately! Off a swedish climbers forum
