  1. A locked brummed is used for end terminations.. Eye_and_Eye_Tail_Splice-1.pdf Whoopies and loopies...12-Strand_Tenex_and_Tenex-TEC_Whoopie_Sling_Splice.pdf Hope it helps
  2. Ahh see I work a few below folk but grates me hearing it every minute. I like a "quiet site" so when instructions or theres an emergency whats said is heard and understood. I'm not saying don't say a word i'm not an anti social hitler! Its just how ive been "brought up" so to speak. A fan when it needs to be called but not as its falling:001_tongue:, ive seen people duck an move only to step into the falling limb! Back to kit storage for a minute: What ever you choose to store your kit in, get anal about how you pack it away:confused1:, the same way you do stripping a saw or gun, get a routine... It makes keeping track of your kit so much easier as you know where it is and can tell whats missing with out the, "where did i put that" especially ppe.
  3. Eyes up dude! ALWAYS look:thumbup1: Not taking that micro second to look up to get home quicker, and maybe not go home..... Play safe bro:thumbup:
  4. I agree, I know a guy who hardly ever uses a silky apart from fruit trees and really small trees. His work is exceptional. Simply put. I'm fighting the urge to rant of about why i reach for silky first.

Ye that lift has been mentioned before, very easy and effective no doubt! As regard to chest d, i cant say i know anyone who uses a full body harness for srt in tree work. I'm not saying there isn't just never come across one. If you used your lanyard to lift, I can only really think of using their lanyard around them and to your d's to keep them upright if srt, if ropes intact (dbrt) I attach to their 3rd HC hole to keep my atttachment's uncluttered this of course is not be viable if casualty is on srt or even dbrt if he's but below his hitch. Maybe two slings one around you, one around them attached with biner in middle for srt (this needs more kit) or their strop in a loop around both under the arms? Just thinking out loud here guys...

Too keep them up right Drew or you thinking of other issues? Are talking for the lift or entire rescue?
  7. Ditto, only you will know! For small trees, conifers and dense crowns sequoia is bit more stream lined in my opinion but over all treemotion wins in my mind everytime but it's what YOU prefer. Word of warning, treemotions are very adjustable so don't try on a mates and right it off if it doesn't feel right straight off, have a play with the adjustments and climb in it not just have a hang!.
  8. Neither have I but seen a £10+£5
  9. Rig, sorry don't know ball size dude
  10. I went into my local arb shop and asked them for odd ends, they'll either give it to ya or charge you a few pennies if their tight!
  11. hmmm echo, never used one but its pretty plastic looking..... not a good thing even for someone who likes fancy stuff. 192t wins!!!
  12. Have I got this right, I pay them direct, you pick up and post? Sorry bro bit confused, long night last night! I'd never expect you to lug it around bro 13 trains with kids, i'd rather climb everest in my undies! Brave man! If im right there is no import duty as its purchased in the EU. cheers again
  13. Pure habit to use d's 99.9%time, hard one to kick hey!. Shame uk's so reactive to safety/best practice. Kudos NZ arb, very much more preemptive!! to Treetools Blog | life in trees - hell yeah! worth checking daily! for ideas, safety, the lot.....
  14. I learn't to trust my gear the first time a limb snapped out on me. One min giving a thumbs up to groundie next looking at the sky! Must admit the rush was pretty unbeatable.... Lucky i Redirected, but i learn't my gear will hold.. It's the anchor points your want to worry about in my mind, we all strive for the best anchor point and often push the limits with anchor points.
  15. Thanks bro:thumbup1:, Already got a 200t just want a 192t for the more "delicate" work when grunt of 200 i'snt needed. Iv'e heard its not cheap on france but just cant get one here

  18. Hey guys, I need a favour from someone in france please!! I need a stihl 192t pricing up and if possible the postage fee, I can't seem to find any stihl dealers in france willing to help me out despite trying my best french! I'd really appreciate it as i'm desperate for a 192t:001_tongue: I will of course return the favour somehow. With in reason Thanks in advance! Dak

Like this but casualty on SRT instead of Footlocking
  22. Pics, I'll try get some done tomorrow if you still need them? I use a knitting needle to open the cover fibres before inserting the fid, helps when extracting the core too as cover strands can get mega tight so pry strands open but not so much they sag when you've buried. *EDIT* Jusst looked at drews pics and looks his wires a thicker gauge than I use, I snap one now and again but its no biggie, always have a couple made up and at £4.30 for a roll i'm not bothered! Maybe drew will let ya know gauge hes using if he knows. Hope that's helped...
