1. Meindls but yes haix in general are good tough boots! I had protectors a while back, not ideal for climbing but excellent on the ground!
2. I'm guessing it will be down to when HB get their next shipment, maybe a while Spliced any new stuff Craig, same construction?
3. Ace bit of kit, I've made a couple but this works a treat! Saying that I got it stuck once or twice but I I have it looser now. Saves alot of work and aides smooth climbing so much! Be prepared to spend a bit on cord though, to easy to fly out the trees I'd get 1.25m one though 2.5 just to long for day to day work will get in the way! Tell the wife it will help you get home faster and you'll have more energy after work! She'll love it! Or not. Peace!
4. http://chainsdirect.co.uk/Products/1775_2712-towa-active-grip-advance-gloves.aspx These are my preferred climbing glove, really thin which is great for knots, karabiners etc! One down side is the smell, after a few days these honk like nothing I've ever smelt, an it's not just my gloves! Good 2nd skin type gloves
5. Although only used once or twice on mates setups I like ap, I remember someone moaning about one beeline but liked the other, as in 8/10mm. Different contruction or materials I can't rember! AP is an expensive but good choice I'm going to get a load as soon as my ocean poly is gone Beeline 8/10mm views?
6. I'm all for them, hate people shouting on site, especially on domestics! I won't rant!
7. 1.25m for day to day stuff, use a multisaver for stems and when that's to short (rare) I use a multisling? On a blakes an descend the stem srt! Pulleysaver is pretty top! You won't regret it!
8. Bro if you can get the quote with a crane then do it! Simples! End of the day there's always got to be a first time for everything sometime! Maybe see if you can find an experienced chap who will let you climb with him, basically use it as a lesson!! An as far as I'm aware there is no crane qual, I may be proves wrong....... Good luck an be safe! Dak
9. Pathetic..... The copyright, not you mog Looking forward to the re-edit!

12. Morning squire, very quick response bud, I'll check them out see if I can find any an give it another shot, out of Sirius now anyway! Ahh yes I remember seeing his pic on here now you mention it! Have a good'n bro
13. All well in the arb camp I'm hoping folks! Soo, kinda down on the db splicing so tried to splice my pinto to some 8mm Sirius, first eye tiny bit of bunching but the second eye was a pig! Any tips? There is no way that will pass through I don't think an my hands are in shreds Having no end to tie off makes it a nightmare! This might be one for Drew! And on another note what's ap 8mm like to splice compared to Sirius folks, anyone tried both? Thanks in advance folks!
14. Speak your local tree officers if you get on well with them, they could give you permission for parks etc or let you know about good quite trees away from the public Farmers are pretty cool too, a bottle of scotch normally seals the deal! Dak
15. Could always use a hitch climber as your pulley and have braking line tied off at start point, grigri attached to hitchclimber and braking line, not self braking but would work I guess. It's stick with the way it's done in video, easy to do an less kit to buy
16. Dont know what happened there, In list order
17. Few more from today.... Schizophyllum commune? Amanita porphyria? I'm stumped on this! G. Lucidum? L. Sulphureus?
18. Is it going to be a permanent?
19. AP is nice an soft on the hands true, cleared the acsenders part up though! I wondered if the fine weave might be a problem but obv not! Cheers bro
20. Excellent resource there thank you very much!
21. I knew it! What's your prefered static Drew?
22. He is attached to another line you can just see it if you look carefully! He most likely has measured the length and tied it off where he starts which stops him this or he's being belayed but I doubt it. You could always have a stopper knot, alpine butterfly etc at desired end point but only if harnessed, if it's a pulley and handle expect to be torn away from the handle when you stop abruptly!
23. Cheers Hama
24. Thanks for all the replies folks, building up my shopping list
25. Colour difference threw me, why is the first so contrasting, White/black and the others a brown/dirty white, would this be due to spores?
