I'll pm/text you. Drew are we assuming the rescuer is climbing Ddrt?
  6. may i suggest dmm shadow/zodiac as the straight spines give you more room between carabiner and prussik when used dbrt clipped to the pinto's becket. saves your knuckles:001_smile:

I was thoroughly unimpressed with your setup/hardware Ive been playing with some ideas as an when i come across the kit! Did we climb patron or lsk bro i cant remember?
  8. Excellect concept BUTT Price, I own one but as soon as its shot i'm taking all hardware inc thimble, and splicing my own!! The hardware is 2nd to none! and so versatile! Pinto.... I got the 4m and works well as a short 2nd line. 11mm line daisy chains/packs away small. I'm anal about having splices but if you don't mind knots make your own, use your preffered prussik and line... worth it, yes if you cant splice and want it "streamlined" but if don't give a toss about knots no! I went on Just my honest opinion but the DMM hardware is the nuts!!
  9. Wheres most of your work bro? Chase? or more north staffs way? Don't know many forestry companies in staffs, arb companys everywhere though!
  10. How do, what very litttle I know of herefordshire is beautiful so dump doesn't apply to you! Last time i worked in heredordshire i couldn't understand what the old boys we where saying haha!. I like that! Ruralness! What ya do bro? Ruralness
  11. Put your hands up please. It may be me (or fact its dump generally)...Im just honest , but it seems to be very north or south here?. Same goes for comps and shows with the exception of APF.... Mr Burton need not reply.

  13. seqouia hands down
  14. any reason for opting for wire over the wand?
  15. To be honest Mark it works on same principle as normal wire fid except the fid is captive in the tube. I don't think it would make a huge difference in all honesty.
  16. here it is, looks ace but not used one, heard good stuff though. Treeworker only uk stockists I can find. Pricey imo. be interested to know what others think.... Rope splicing tools - Treeworker.co.uk
  17. not on small diameter cord, rigging lines with loose covers possibly. wires tried and tested on smaller cords
  18. the joy of diy being you can make differing lengths for larger/shorter eyes etc. and the price, £4.30 i paid for my roll

Imagine the tachyon is Casuaties line . Set above climber drop down attach casualty to you and/or new system, use 3:1 advantage to raise casualty. Just something I chucked together quickly! Hardware could be varied and achieve same result but I don't need to tell you that... think 3:1 would help with fatties!
  21. Not knocking tree worker but for the price of one wire fid from them you can buy years worth of wire, also find they snap easier tied that way. Just my 2cents worth
  22. not got enough bounce bro even at full stretch I hate sawpods too, find the catch every bit of epicormic, strop and climbing line catches it, just generally a pain. Ive looped my silky belt holder clip through my harness and zip tied it on, saw and scabbard just clip on and off, suits me right!
  23. would I be right in thinking that's a class 2 splice??
  24. that is new england one bro
  25. funny that ive just got a little bungee for mine, no springy enough to bounce back and cut anything, im wondering if its going to get caught much... time will tell A few of people attach there silkys to harness i reckon
