  1. A pound to a penny they were R frisia, the bright green things. https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=401
  2. These people charge £25 for green waste; if you have enough it may be worth the 1/2 hour drive. Greenwaste

    Bio chain oil

Can't help with the milling question but I've had no issues with rape oil on a 25" bar if that helps at all.
  5. Couldn't TER contact the loser and put him in touch with you? That way you'd find out if there was an isurance payout, whether he still wants it back etc. The fact that the trailer was reported stolen 10 years ago doesn't preclude it legitimately being up for sale now. All of which is too late now of course - enjoy the new trailer - but I'm just making the point that it may have been possible to legitimately acquire the first one.
  6. Olly, if you've got one love and cherish it. I have 20", 25" and 30" bars; the 20" makes firewood fast. Great saw.
  7. Exactly what I've had done to all my older machines when converting to Aspen. I haven't had any problem at all but of course that's not the same as saying I would have had problems otherwise. But advice is as above; change fuel lines and diaphragm. The L screw will want turning out a fraction more.
  8. After much pricematching on t'Internet these were the cheapest I could find but it was 2 years ago. Wheelie Bins | For Sale & To Buy Online :: YellowShield
  9. Surrey > Wilts > Somerset > Devon > Surrey with various lumps of wood. Thanks, Jon
  10. Couldn't be better; thanks.
  11. Steve, it looks just like what I need to ballast the pickup while I do my tour of Britain with Alec's poplar next week! Amazingly it wouldn't even be out of my way as I join the M5 at Taunton. Just give me the nod and I'll communicate direct with the OP.
  12. I'd never have guessed at that colouration in the Box Elder Steve; most excellent. Jon
  13. Really sad for that to go. I used to drive past it twice a day - it's a landmark tree if South Croydon has such things! Have you tried Rob at Woldingham? He's not being very communicative at present for a change but he may take it. I can PM you contact details if you don't have them. Jon
  14. ...after I've finished Jon's Tulip bowl.
  15. Not myself Alec but there's a guy just down the road (Colin Ford, sculpturer of wood and bespoke master joiner.) who'll think of something imaginative to do with just about any piece of wood.
  16. Jo Beau M300 here. I suspect the CS100 has a higher throughput but it's considerably heavier, something that may be a consideration if you need to get it up and down onto/off a vehicle as I do.
  17. Superb Steve. Clive took delivery of F/Maple this am.

  19. Dosko are US, have been making stuff for ages and are going strong in the UK. They make very good smaller stumpgrinders too. As for parts I doubt there's a problem; a hire shop near me has a small Dosko stumpy. I believe that at least some of the drive train - belts maybe or pulleys - are made by one of the biggest Japanese plant manufacturers who have their UK head office in West Surrey somewhere but I can't remember who it is! Not Komatsu I don't think.... help!
  20. First point - true. That's why my bar's 14", not 12"! Second point - stupid for me only because it increases the number of chains, bars etc I have to stock! What difference do you see between the 3/8" and the .325"? Third point - I was surprised to even read of such a bar on the saw. Cheers, Jon
  21. It won't have coped with an 18" bar at all well. I'left the .325 sprocket on and use a 12" bar; great little saw that you can swing about (!) all day without it hurting.
  22. I have as well as the pics I refer to in the Directory but I can't compare/contrast anything there with the excellent close ups by Jaffa151 of a section through Perenniporia.
  23. Good shots indeed. David, how would similar shots of Rigidiporus have differed? I've looked at the (excellent) pics in the Directory but they're not as close up as these.
  24. When I've bought handles I've kept them in a warm house for a few days to dry and shrink them, planed/chiselled/sanded them to a tight fit, then wedged them. Being kept in a shed re-swells the wood once fitted I believe! Jon
  25. The reaction to that depends on who's considering the wood rubbish. I don't burn rubbish (99% conifer on page 1): it's the others!
