I've had 2 different sets of coms over the years, they didn't last , wiring was a let down. I'm wanting new ones for winch work. How much are they ?

Hi Billy, I got your PM. I don't know about weights but I find keeping things moving is the key. From the second it's cut, move. If you move you can drop and move way more that you will ever lift.

I've had my shear for a week now, how did I survive without it, demo grab hasn't been on since.

They can be bad on some nights, nothing a smokey fire or midge net doesn't sort out.

I moved 184 miles to the highlands and I think it's as close to Canada / Norway/ Sweden as I'm going to get without getting on a plane. People are not as stressed, there are less of them and the great out doors is amazing, the weather is so much dryer and colder compared to where I was on the west coast.

No it's slowing down, the chute will only narrow and lengthen the throw, as long as your chipper has plenty of draft, if it doesn't it will block up! No stress models sometimes block if the chutes too long.

I'd imagine it would narrow the spray, that's what I'd want then you can just aim it about the corners and middle.

I know a guy with 1, he tows his 13 tonner with it. He's never had any problems

My Arbor eater was a turntable and when it was swivelled 1 way the spout was closer, I've extended shoots with soilmpipe found in a skip, it works as long as there is enough power behind the chip. That's what I love about a mog chipper set up, no spillage.

I started with an arbor eater as it's all I could afford too, so I know where you are coming from.

The round cabs are amazing off road and manoeuvring!

Arbor eaters are just not very good at all aspects of being a chipper I'm afraid, Forget adding paddles and blowers, save up and buy a better chipper

Take a couple of drums with you . Oil fast will need a postcode to bulk deliver, doubt you can turn up everyday with 2 jerry cans:)

I always fell out with other guys when I worked for other people, used to end up with threats, challenges, isolation from the rest of the group! But stuff them I thought, I was there to work and learn. ive had loads of threats but no one ever threw a punch. Learn what you can, take the money and move on first chance you get and start yourself.

Put it this way. Sectional dismantle for a 3 man team. £70 per hr. Felling in close quarters near buildings with higher risk. £250 per hr. You said 1 and did the other, what we all call a stunt fell. If the customer wasn't in there wouldn't be as big a moral dilemma going on in your head, you feel guilty, you also feel you want rewarded for doing a very skillfull fell. Unfortunately you changed the terms of your contract without the other parties consent and still expect the same result. Reduce your bill, be honest and sleep better at night is my advice.

I never thought of that, I lost patience and just attaked mine. The head was knackered so I wasn't fussed. I will have the same problem when this head wears out at the bottom but at £22 and something I use for 20 mins a fortnight throw the summer I can live with that!

It's missing the plate with the hole in it to correspond to the 1 built into the head. Take a hacksaw to it and a chisel to get it off and order the rights part and a new head, they are £22 from Stihl with auto feed. If tou go to a lawnmower shop their might be an old head that's seized and you could get the plate.

I just posted mine at the post office straight to Petzl, took about 2 weeks. I'd assume you would only get a swap from whole ever you bought it off.
