  1. Pretty sure there have been some problems with the slewing ring on the smaller Cats. I know someone who had one from new and it didn't last long.
  2. Unfortunately it's untrue.
  3. Here's a larch with woodpecker peck holes. Must be grubs under there.

    problem

Have you ditched the spark arrestor?
  5. Once that gets rockin' it'll take some stopping:001_smile: Nice job. Might be an idea to put some stops on the rockers in case the young un gets carried away.
  6. Thanks. I'll try and get things moving.
  7. Butternut? What about the twig test.
  8. That's the impression I get from them and it makes you feel you shouldn't really be bothering them so I tend to stay away as much as possible. So who do I go to for a second etc opinion? Privately I assume or maybe some kind of sports medic. Thanks for replies. I have to get something sorted as the lack of sleep is doing me in.
  9. I wonder if it's possible to encase a steel flip line in the nylon used in chainsaw trousers and cover with something hardwearing?
  10. Sorry about the party pooping:001_smile: Never seen fruit on one before.
  11. Is that A. altissima?
  12. Just wondered if anyone can offer some advice or experienced similar. I'm used to many of the usual pains associated with the job and life etc but this is now getting me down. Back in July I had a particularly hard off whilst competing in an enduro and landed on my left shoulder/upper arm. I carried on because it wasn't too bad and could ride but at the end of the day I couldn't move my upper arm at all. The only way to move it was to lift it with my good arm. Working wasn't too bad and climbing ok as lower arm worked perfectly. After a month I went to the Dr and he told me that I'd bruised it etc. Oh there was a lump at the top of my arm too which he said was a cyst. It got worse with the pain at night unbearable and about a month of little sleep. Going a over t in the shower put me back to square one and the Dr again. Different Dr who told me ripped tendons and the lump is where a rupture is. Painkillers which immediately worked for a while but the pain at night still keeps me awake and groaning to myself:001_smile: I've now been told by a completely unconnected person that the only way to cure this is surgery which should have been done long ago to be successful. Has anyone done anything similar? Have you lived with it? Does it get better? Sorry about long-winded post and any comments/advice greatly appreciated.
  13. I would assume the felling licence is only applicable to the areas occupied by the holder of the licence and not any pockets under separate ownership. ie yours. Also what is the total volume of timber the licence applies to?
  14. Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness. Nice pics. My garden was full of red admirals today feasting and boozing on windfall pears.

    Louie Spence!

Had to Google the name but recognised the picture. Yep....he's one to make your skin crawl.
  16. Will ash transplant well without being undercut? Just a thought.
  17. That last shot of the maze is awesome!
  18. Pretty sure you got the spelling right too:thumbup:
  19. An easy one for you.
  20. 020 dropped across right thigh doing final cut in awkward position on a syc pollard. Fortunately trousers stopped most damage. Cut into left thumb 020 cut and chuck and also wrist. Loads of cuts pre Silky days when the Bushman used to bounce all around the pruning cut. Like most posters before you generally just carry on as any dressing is off in a nano second.
  21. My L200 is for sale within your budget:thumbup:
  22. What about a compression test? Maybe it's a bit low.
  23. I'd give the yew a miss if you border onto grazing.
  24. I wouldn't put too many spp in unless in blocks. You'll end up flitting here and there harvesting. Personally I'd stick to ash and hazel. The hazel will produce a crop of rods and the ash some lovely firewood plus a few left as standards. Who knows...you may even get some truffles eventually:001_tt2:
  25. What I can't believe is a complete lack of coverage on TV news of a major sporting loss. Plenty of talk of Man Utds loss etc but no mention of Marco's passing.
