  1. So we were; precisely.
  2. 99.9% of the time Husq and Stihl are assumed to be the only pro saws... I was having this kind of conversation with a plant hire co yesterday; he rightly said the UK is SO behind other parts of the world that have seen the light... Efco, Dolmar (Makita), Jonsered, Echo build rolls royce kit...
  3. The McCulloch is a half price Husky 445 can't go wrong with echo but if you can stretch to the Echo CS420ES Petrol Chainsaw Pro end bottom end and pot / piston; well regarded in the US where they port the 420 and 450 a LOT!
  4. How's the McCulloch going mate? I'd love to have a proper woods saw with that famous name on it!
  5. SOLO GERMAN CHAINSAWS - Chainsaws Discount suppliers online for £269 I'd go 410 or 450 elite... MCCULLOCH CHAINSAWS - Chainsaws Discount suppliers online
  6. Forget the cheap ones; every log customer I've got with a cheapo munches throught twice the wood that a decent stove does; false economy going cheap...
  7. Ours doing woodland work...
  8. Fair play; excellent deal No not really; we're £26-28 for processor clean larch and DF...
  9. £40/tonne for poplar?!!! Hmmm, good luck.
  10. Yes, I think mechanics post the 1980s are crap, frankly. Main auto dealer mechanics are more into laptop dianostics than any old school stuff like under-sqaure vs over-square or cross flow heads advantages, or why cast iron blocks are superior to modern alloy ones... I'm not saying there are none at all in existence; but modern motorist isn't dazzled by brilliance nowadays, just baffled with bull.
  11. Tried that and still couldn't find it... STAR! Thank you! What's the trick?!
  12. Been searching for a post where I listed roundwood haulage rates in 10 mile increments upto approx 130 miles; I think JNOON was a contributor to the thread but can I find it?! Driving me nuts and obviously as a recent-ish post I must be crap at using the search facility; any advice?! Thanks.
  13. Love it. Dries and once so burns hot and clean
  14. Heatwave proportional to time of year tis man! Hellish hot Jon isn't it...
  15. Elf, does your slew lever have the free-slew option for leaving the crane over the back?
  16. Had the same recently; removed a lonicera and other hedge; customer assumed roots included; would have had to demolish wall!
  17. My Dol PS5105 and Mak 5030 are both 2012 models; I will pop down mst and look at the latest ea mak carb. Will add photo's...
  18. No, there are differences between Dol and Mak, atleast in the 5105/5030 which would make me choose Dolly, principally a different carb which imo is pretty major! Think either in this thread or another dolmar one I've elaborated on the differences further... I have heard that they are considering changing from Mak to Dol in the UK which wd be fantastic, but thd dealer network needs sorting out. I have been importing them from the US for a while now and no regrets or parts / warranty issues cos they don't break!
  19. http://download.dolmar.com/extras/dolmar_bars_and_chains.pdf OREGON® Hand Held Chain Saw Replacement Parts V hard trying to figure that over onto the oregon product selector guide; think my 5105 dolly is a normal husky mount... will go have a look... Also, would be interested in one of those lighter sugi bars (with resin bits?) to fit as I want to go 3/8 on the 5105 from .325... parts: http://download.dolmar.com/manuals/23803.pdf
  20. Good heavens! I'm too old for this crap. My bad, thought the op needed chip as i know fa about burners. Of course I can't sell diseased timber to an unlicenced concern ffs, I'm not that stupid or reckless. I am harvesting pr larch yes. Euro and FF are buying it and to your chagrin, hauling it by road; that was your gripe x # of posts back. Take your distate of this to them and the powers that be if that floats yer boat. If the op wants prl chip he'll need to be a licenced facility and get it from the approved sources, correct. That could well have been cut by me or a multitude of other contractors. Comprende?
  21. Look on Radmore & Tucker website, much bigger £ diff between echo and husq i think
  22. You telling me I rattled your chain! Trouble is with the inquisition you're now giving me, you tempt me to keep at it!! No, I am not offering the PR larch for firewood for goodness sake! I am a cutter, not a mill, but mills buy pr larch from cutters... For crying out loud man, give us a break. The OP is looking for chip, NOT FIREWOOD!
